This is just excellent in every way. Love the colors, the artistic talent, the details and
especially the artist notes!
The reflection in the sunglasses isn't bad either!
Wink! His expression is just priceless Mark! So well done
throughout! Best wishes in the competition.

oh i thank you for the well wishes but it was never considered. i was shocked when i won the Valentine Art contest. FAR committee is looking for Top artwork..cartoons are usually not considered..(track history) ..i guess not many folks entered the Valentine Art contest..however it doesnt stop me from entering..wink. A fantastic cartoon piece depicting this old gent in great detail and proportion, startled perhaps by the technology of the camera in front of him, or the artist, or both - or something else? lovely vibrant yellows and blues and great attention to detail from the waves of the ocean coming in to the freckles on his face, and the expression is spot on- lifelike in fact - contrasting well with the classic old guy blue shirt and grey cardigan. Great accuracy, detail, composition and fun, well done :)

Lol!! Very funny MK! So clever too is your reflection in the lenses of the sunglasses. Excellent rendering of the body language and the expression on gramp's face. Admirable work!

Good visual impact....but the impact for me is the expression of this snowbirds face and that reflection of the beautiful girls in his sunglasses. No words are needed with your art work....nice readable storytelling with your image. Your colors, details along with the beach in the background all coming together for outstanding and creative art work and storytelling. I love this! Worthy of a 10 Star!

Hey Mark, love your creation here .. What an expression.. whoooaa .. suits the title to perfection. The colours used to create this man in shock are vibrant and eye catching.. the yellow hat with its blue band, compliment the yellow sandy shore nicely and his rather tanned skin tone just add to that startled appearance written all over his face.. got to love the eyebrows.. nearly reaching the top of his forehead.. not to mention his eye balls. they are just about to pop out of his head.. I see his teeth have already fallen out. or maybe he choked on disbelief of what he is checking out, that he accidentally swallowed them. The sunglasses are a specialty.. delightful image reflected in the lenses.. very clever... His blue shirt and grey jacket are befitting for his age and era. and he looks just like a tourist who has come to check out the scenery.. guess he found a little more than he was expecting... great ocean waves in the background.. give a feeling of movement and add excellent contrasting colour to the sandy shoreline. the two birds in the white clouds add interest in this funny portrait scene.. I think the old guy needs a stiff drink by now... maybe his next stop is the local bar.. great work Mark. gives me a fun smile on my dial just reviewing this. thanks for the ride. cheers mel

The old boys face kind of say's it all!

I would sure like to spent some time looking at nice looking young lady's wearing next to nothing, but I'll get a cow that needs a 4DD bra instead, and I do mean the bovine variety.
Great job and good luck on the contest.
Chris

Don't know if he is looking at eye candy or something much, much worse!lol! I've seen some pretty scary things at the beach, and it wasn't anything that had washed ashore-like the guy who was sunbathing with a"sweater"on(dude, you're asking a lot of the sun!),the old guy wearing a baggy thong(my eyes! ),or the guy who passed me that had a piece of rope around his waist that disappeared into his crack(don't know what was in front, don't want to go there)!Hopefully it's a sight for sore(and old!)eyes for his sake.Great presentation with nice bold cheery colors. Love the cardigan and hat-they are perfect, excellent expression on his face.A great contest entry,to be sure-best of luck! LeeAnn :)
