Hi KristiV thank you for sharing this absolutely beautiful and heart rendering photo of your brother and his faithful companion Charlie. Appreciate your story to accompany the picture. always so heartbreaking when we have to say goodbye to our much loved pets . they become a part of our lives and are sadly missed. Your photo just emanates true devotion and love.. and brings tears to my eyes. Charlie is showing his total devotion to your brother as he fixates on his face , offering his unconditional love . HIs soft face has so much meaning in his expression. His mouth , his eyes and his attentiveness says it all. such a sweet doggy. Your brother's expression paints a picture in my mind's eye. his eyes closed as though he is trying to capture the memory of Charlie right here and now, forever in his heart. Best buddies always. there is a look of total trust in each other, and the bond between them is so evident. I am sure this photo will be kept close by as a beautiful happy memory of their last goodbye.. something to cherish forever after.. Words cannot express the sadness, but your photo certainly expresses the joy and compassion these two share .. Thanks for sharing this well captured and perfectly exposed shot.. the lighting and focus are perfect and the emotion it emanates is unforgettable. my sympathy for your bro in losing his best ever companion. Such a pleasure to review. best wishes mel . best of luck in the contest also

Years and years ago I went through the same experience. Not nice! In your case though your family will be able to enjoy some good photos of your pet judging by this fine image. It is well composed, sharp and has good exposure. Well done and good luck!

Cute capture. The angle of both man and dogs facial is great. The clarity is great. The capture of the light is great. The image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall

A very nicely shot image with a compelling story. I think the B&W works well and you have captured the relationship. If I could change anything it would be for his cap to be further back so that we could see more of his face in the light. This was a very kind thing for you to do and I am sure it will be appreciated for a long time. Well seen and well shot.

Very sad story ! It's horrible to lose a dog.
You have captured this moment that shows the love between your brother and his dog, Charlie, I like the black and white, this is well focused , a clear image showing the details of both subjects, good tonal variations, well composed . I love that they are looking at each other.

Thank you so much. He was a very sweet dog. I'm new to looking at lighting and shadows so I'm never quite sure if it's right or not. I have a histogram on my camera so I suppose I should learn how to read it!
