This is an amazing capture! Thank you for the detail and story about this beautiful statue of Lord Shiva. The time of day you shot is a perfect moment with the setting sun (or rising?) reflecting and highlighting one side while the crescent moon is on the other side of him - is absolutely sublime in it's symbology! If I had another 6 to give, you would receive it - This is the one to beat in the contest! Wishing you the best of luck!

Wow. One really gets the perspective of size with the people and items in the immediate foreground. What a beautiful statue. The finely polished surface radiates stillness and tranquility. Great entry for the contest and all the best in the voting ~ Steve

This is very well photographed, good focus, the image is clear, it's a beautiful statue , the street scene below gives scale as to the size! I really like the lighting in this one and the lavender sky behind it. Interesting notes too! Thank you for sharing this!

I don't like the statue but I like the story about the moon;
The crescent moon is symbolic of purity, wisdom, positivity and calmness. Thus, one who prays Shiva, the Chandrashekhar gets blessed with pure intellect and harmonious life. He is the only Lord who adorns natural jewels (snake and crescent moon) rather than the precious-costly gems. The crescent worn by Lord Shiva is actually the moon in its fifth day phase and symbolizes the cycle of time through which the process of creation evolves, the beginning till the end.

A nicely composed shot. I like the inclusion of the street scene at the bottom to give us a sense of proportion. The image is very sharp and the colors are beautiful. Best of luck in the contest.

What a wonderful first impression, the mountains in the background shows how big this is, love the natural lighting, the people in the foreground really show how big this image is, like the details and colors, a pleasure to look at, thank you for sharing, dale
