This is a great entry for the under the sea contest. Beautiful use of color. Visual impact is fun and creative. Color harmony is very pleasing. Lol I love the fish head on. He makes me smile. He looks happy. Nice shading and highlighting! Sorry about the marathon. Sometimes I can't stop when I get started. I do love your work. I love all your happy colors you use!

What a gorgeous Under the Sea art work. Good presentation and a great entry into the contest and good luck. So much beauty created in your scene....nice facial expressions and colors on the fish. I love how you have chosen so many colors for the fish against the green vegetation and dreamy blue water. Beatuiful brush strokes and blending and shading of colors. A creative and talented art work. Thanks for sharing!

It is always nice to see alternate approaches. The colours really speaks here.I also like the gentle figures of the fish which seems to lead the gentleness of the entire painting. Good luck in the contest!

excellent design and painting, yet gentle and delicate. Carefully selected items juxtapositioned for maximum effect with subtle colouring. All over effect, interesting and peaceful.

Hi and thanks for sharing this awesome painting ' under the sea'.. fabulous colours used to create an initial visual impact.. I love the focal point ..being your smiling nemo like fish swimming through the reeds.. His facial expression delights me.. I feel myself smiling back at him. Is that weird.. no.. I am sure it was your intention.. He is wearing a very cute expression on his face.. with that bright orange back that carries on into his bright blue face with those excited eyes... I am then drawn into his purple and white speckled area that represents his nose.. and then straight towards that beautiful smile he is proudly presenting.. mouth open, teeth showing slightly and the corners of his lips turning upward to indicate his happy state of being.. Love his dark touch of colur under his co called chin... The black lines between his eyes make him look a little like the clown fish. oh so adorable.. and his fins could be wings --they are so well suited against his charming face. Love the turquoise hue in his fins.. with the charcoal hue as highlights.. The squiggly lines within his fins give an excellent feeling of movement. very clever rendering.. Love the twisted effect of the reeds. masterfully rendered to give a similar effect of movement in the current of the water.. the deeper huses on the sides of the reeds highlights that 3 dimensional view of this plant growth under the water.. the tubular plant life in the foreground is nicely rendered, and the brush strokes used to create the effect of the jiggling in the current has worked perfectly. the horizontal strokes of both light and shade gives them great textural value as they float around under the sea.. the little fish in the foreground is gorgeous. His shape is great and he too offers that feeling of movement.. The way you have rendered his fins shows him gliding through the water ... Love his head colourings. so cute and so colourful.. and the dotted brush strokes really look like scales.. nicely painted and with great effect.. The litte pink fish hiding behind the reed on the left seems content to follow mr. smiley face who is in front of him. His markings are well detailed and nicely rendered.. Each of the fishes has its own personality in your scene. I love that.. you have brought them to life and given them character.. an excellent feature in the happy feel good scene. The water with its bluish green hue is delightfully blended to give the impression of a current moving through the seawater. It compliments the reeds well and also blends nicely with Mr smiley's fins.. The whole scene emanates joy and delight and has a story to tell all of its own. Such a happy painting that brings a smile to my face. Thank you for sharing . it has been so much fun and a pleasure to review. cheers mel. best of luck in the contest.

Fun piece this. The fish looks like it's having a great laugh of sorts.
I like the colors and delineation. It has a bit of a "Finding Nemo" quality about it.
It's a bit unbalanced with the blue on the upper left. I feel like it needs to be shifted a bit.
Further, the fish at the bottom needs a bit mire definition and shading to pull it from the background.
