His expression on his face is priceless as if an Elephant walked into town!
I am always so amazed and impressed with your digital paintings Cleo.
The textures, tiny details colors are all so lovely. You did a great job on his eyes which draw us in.
Nice to have you back..you were missed.

Thank you very much for your kind review and for your heart warming welcome back.
I love your expression of "...as if a elephant walked into town!" You have a very good point there. You are a good observer. I spend indeed much attention to those eyes. It was the hardest part to paint those dark eyes. To give them expression was a challenge. :o)

I was wondering, do you use a mouse or do you a mouse to guide digital paint brush?
reply by the author on 08-Apr-2018
No, I do not use a mouse. I guide the digital paint brush with my fingers on a pad. I also use a raster which divides the painting into several squares and then blow up the squares when I paint the details. Its similar to the technique I used for outdoor wall-paintings. :o)

Nice. I like the red colored shirt and deep blue pants. The colors pop against the nice neutral tones of the background. You did a nice job painting this figure to look like carved wood. Nice touch standing him on a tree stump, adds interest. Nice artist notes too. Well done. ~Alveria

Indeed, an intriguing facial reaction.
Startled expression.
Great story telling factor.
There must be something that caused him to react that way.
Cool cowboy attire.
Striking saturated colors against a plain off white backdrop--popping the digi image prominently.

Thanks for sharing...

Thank you very much for your encouraging comments. I am sure there is something why he acts this way, but I do not know what it is. :o)

Cleo,
A beautiful picture of this wood carving with it's wide eyed look & his unique looking whiskers & his hands on hips. I've no idea how you created this but what ever you did the result is beautiful.

This is awesome! I love the wood carvings! This old farm hand with his denim jeans and red shirt with vest and cowboy hat up on the tree stump is very well presented with nice detail throughout and great colors too! I like this in the vertical arrangement , this was fun to view!

You really achieved the rustic texture of the original wood in this digital composition. I like the almost impasto thickness of your brush strokes and the light source you chose.
