When I am looking at this beautiful photograph, I say it's a flower! You have really captured this dandelion beautifully , it shows all the details in the individual petals and the very center too! Well focused, clear view, well handled lighting, beautiful yellow tones! Well presented in the out of center position and looks wonderful against the natural green background!

Pat,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this beautiful Dandelion in the Park.
I've plenty in my garden too. At this time of the year they are beautiful along the roadsides.

Very good close up of the lovely Dandelion, Susan. I don't know why they are classed as weeds because they are such jolly little flowers and very hardy, brightening up many a dark corner of the garden. I like the angle you used for this, showing all the intricate twists and turns of the petals and the smaller one in the background amongst the foliage. Excellent lighting and focus showing a lovely sharp image. Very nice composition. Suzanne

Suzanne,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this colourful Dandelion... I think it's those people who want all the plants in their garden to grow in straight rows & only pop up where they've planted them hate surprises & get out the spray can if they see a weed or bee.... would probably be happier with plastic flowers & grass.
Not me!

Yes, I agree - I hate a regimented garden - give me unexpected delights and a bit of chaos any time! Suzanne

Informative artist notes.
How come you know all their scientific names?!?
Vibrant bloom with a cute bonus bud...
Sharply focused.
Fine features & textures.
Verdant overtone lends a contrasting backdrop popping out the subject prominently!
Subdued lighting.
Ideal framing.
Nice perspective & narrow DOF.
Thanks for sharing...

That's tedious looking one by one to match what you're looking for! ;-))

Dickson,
At this stange of my life I have a pretty good knowledge of the common flowers & weeds growing in Ireland so it's really only checking to see if I'm right...
I just think it make the picture more interesting if you know what you are looking at or can learn it's name from others.
