Very eye-catching! I really don't care for spiders as well but I had to check out this drawing/painting. It's very well done and the colors are popping! Maybe in my next life! LOL.. I grew up with them around but after moving to Alaska you don't see many spiders, so now they creep me out even more!

And a fine entry it is. I like the details of the hair on the legs and mandibles. I am not familiar with the natural colors of this species so I will assume you have portrayed them accurately. Good background color and pattern as it makes the spider stand out. Good job and best of the best in the contest ~ Steve

Thank you so very much, Steve. The colors are in the right tones but of course my palette on hand does not exactly match Mother Nature.

Even though the high quality and talent of the artist is well displayed with this fine piece of art. However, what gets my attention is the combination of this creation and your artist notes. Collectively they document the complete creative process. Keep your notes safe for they are a true treasure.
I see a finely detailed Arachnid framed by a near monotone background.
The detail and anatomy are accurate to scale and presentation.
