This is truly lonely in the badlands. You should have got first place. I'm so surprised that you did not. The depth is fabulous, the sky is a nice light blue enhancing the horizon. The man standing there is truly alone. Scares me to see him standing so close to the edge. Yikes.

Great job

What a great shot and great contest entry. It doesn't get any lonelier than that. He is making me a bit nervous as he is so close to the edge. Love the framing of the man and the barren land. Nice details and lighting. Good luck in the contest, this should do well.

Great shot of the badlands! Great composition. The person adds interest and highlights the immensity of the area. Great lighting as well.

Nice angle of shot and depth of field and nice capture of the lonely man there, but putting him in the center makes for a less interesting photo, next time try to use the rule of 3 for his position

thanks for sharing

A beautiful shot of the solo photographer standing surrounded by the rocks that form the Badlands barren grey rocky hills as far as the eye can see under a ceiling of white clouds floating under a blue sky just visible in the gaps between the clouds. Beautiful atmospheric composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Well photographed, amazing landscape in the badlands, amazing view, well focused, clear image, well handled lighting , colors and tones are natural, this lone person, standing to admire the view, it looks like there is no one around for miles! Good entry for the contest, best to you!

An amazing capture taken with fantastic long DOF that shows the sheer scale and size of this vast and seemingly endless mass of rock formations/canyons, with the predominant shades and tones of grey standing out nicely with great clarity and a feel of layering and depth. Subtly merging into the distant green in the far background and contrasting well with the light blue sky above, the solitary figure stands on the edge of the precipice of one of these enormous rocks; captured brilliantly centrally and overlooking the vast scene, alone - perfect capture and strong contender for the competition, excellent work, well done and best of luck in the polls! :)
