He is adorable Grace, and the water is like glass in this shot. So smooth I love seeing the waves and ripples behind it as this duck moves through it. The clarity and detail are amazing with lovely color and a beautifully framed photograph. Pleasure to view and see this cute little one.

They are so handsome right?!!
I saw my first Male Green Teal this year as well! The green and cinnamon rusty color is amazing on them. The males are so handsome and you captured him with his bill open! Love the glass like water, stop action, sharp focus, fine eye clarity and great Reflection.
Nice find and capture GG MIB!

Excellent capture, Grace, showing this lovely Green Winged Teal duck gliding along in the smooth water, hardly causing a ripple. I like that the background is uncluttered as the water makes a perfect frame. Very good lighting and focus showing a lovely crisp image. Great composition. Suzanne

Beautiful and the reflection is awesome. Excellent cropping showing us all of his colors and details. I like that you use a little vignette. It brings out the softness of the feathers. Great focus and lighting Well done.

Grace,
A beautiful picture of this Green Winged Teal drake in his colourful plumage swimming above his reflection head turned & beak open as if he wanted to tell you something? Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

THE PEACE OF WILD THINGS

I go and lie down where the wood Drake rest in his beauty on the water , and the great heron feeds .

I come into the peace of wild things
Who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief .
I come into the presence of still water .
And I feel above me the day - blind stars waiting for their light .
For a time I rest in the grace of the world , and am free .

this one is a cutie. I've never seen the likes of him before.

I love the way you left room for him to float in to.

Your reflection is an added bonus that makes for a very pleasureful view.

You have created a wildlife portrait that appears to have been hand painted. The glow you captured around this colorful duck perfectly offsets his lovely colored head and bill. The soft ripples in the water creates the image of him paddling on a very calm lake.
