This art looks nice and fresh and creative. Great idea to start over the painting you didn't like and the result is fantastic!!! It makes me curious to try pastel. The experiment turned out a masterpiece! Perfect for color white contest. The still life composition of a trio of white objects is great. You created the effect of light coming through an unseen window and reflections on the neutral wall on the opposite side if the window. The texture of the pastel ground worked perfectly in the shadows. I love the result!!!

This pastel work on pastel board is very well rendered. Lovely smooth lines. Delicate shadows add depth. I like the way the shades blend gently. Fine work.Overall a very good effort.Good luck!

This is a marvelous painting.
I love how you have come out with so many different shades of white.
The two toned background and the pumpkin is also lovely.
A pleasure to view, thanks for sharing.

I would say that is a very successful experiment. I like the description you provided. The white of your objects is just right with the contrast of the green. Thank you for sharing. Good luck in the contest.

This is a lovely piece. The shades of white and grey with just a hint of green work really well here. Nicely composed and nice shading. Good luck in the contest.

I like the L shape arrangement used for this still life painting. I was going to mark it down to 4.5 stars, as I feel that it could be improved by adding a bit more tonal variation. However, it is a well constructed painting which reads correctly without my suggested deeper tones. Wel done and good luck with the contest.

Hi and thank you for sharing this stunning still life painting with its white hue.. really appreciated reading your story to accompany this work of art.. most interesting techniques used to obtain such a wonderful outcome. The textural value on the back wall with its square of opaque lighting from an unseen window has great visual appeal and begins to welcome an antiqued effect in your scene. The lighter shades used to create the unseen window offers a wonderful highlight against the still life subject and draws the eye into the picture. It also brings good depth of field behind the pitcher and squash.. a clever illusion and a great inclusion in your work. The darker line that offers a nice contrasting hue between the wall and flooring is a pleasing addition giving the scene a 3 dimensional feel.. Just love the pleasing rounded shape of the pitcher. It is beautifully detailed with excellent shading and reflecting highlights to bring out its 3 dimensional aspect .. truly appealing to the mind's eye.. The flower that gently dips over the rim of the pitcher's lip has a soft and flowing appeal in its nicely curved shape and intricate design. again your shading and highlights have worked well to accentuate the texture of the petals and a most life like appearance.. The darker hue used for the shading is a lovely choice .. gentle on the eye and brings out the defining features of the flower itself. The handle has a nice curved shape and is harmonious with the rounded lines of the pitcher.. The positioning of the squash is perfect... gives a great balance to the scene and offers a different visual appeal to the taller gracious shape of the pitcher and flower.. I love the segmented appearance giving the squash its own character .. and the use of darker and lighter highlights has a grand effect .. once again the 3 dimensional appeal is evident from the use of your cleverly rendered and well blended hues.. The stem is nicely positioned with a slight curve , in keeping with the harmony of the other subjects in the scene. The flooring has a nice reflection of light showing from the shadows of the both the pitcher and the squash .. offering a good feeling of depth.. The hues are beautifully blended and the more horizontal brush strokes are visually appealing, in contrast to the still life subjects and the wall in the background. The whole scene has an antique appearance and give off a very peaceful and harmonious emotion in my mind's eye. Such a fantastic outcome and a true joy and pleasure to review.. thank you for sharing. . and very best wishes in the contest. cheers mel

Really novel. I love the way you experiment with stuff. I am not much of an experimenter and tend to use stuff pure as it is and gain what effects I can with it alone, though lately I have begun defining in Sharpies once a work is finished, due to one of our FAR sharpie painters who is fantastic. I actually like this very much. We have white pots which stand against white walls and white garlic- yes, I like it.
