Oh my, this is immediately pleasing to the eye! I absolutely love the calming tones of the color palet used here, the tall vase with the dogwood spring , I like the way it reaches out and toward the urn shaped vase. I like the slight change of tone in this vase, the pumpkin is well shaped and I love the placement of the stem. I see this is sitting on a table and really like the background and the way you actually frame the objects on the table with the pale gray outer border and the yellow square . In my opinion this is beautiful work, the details, colors and tones, light and shaded areas are all very well applied . I am impressed !

A very artful drawing that would make a great companion piece to the garlic. I think the dogwoods are beautiful but do not quite understand the inclusion of that squash or whatever it is.

Thank you very much. The pumpkin is just another organic element.

I do that all the time. I'm painting away and then out of the blue...I just white it all out. My thinking is I can spend another day working on it frustrated or just get rid of it now. Anyways, I like what you came up with here. There are so many shades of whites, beiges and greys all coming together to give it a soothing white still life painting. It will do well in the contest. Good luck.

A lovely elegant still life, Linda. Always thrilled to see a Dogwood blossom a favorite of mine from my many years in Virginia. The delicacy of the bloom is rendered well and the monochromatic vases let it be the star. Nicely done.

Linda, I think this one is stronger than the white one. It has more interest and depth. Just the little bit of added color makes a big difference. Nice shapes and shading. I don't get a sense of scale in this piece, which isn't bad just not there. The background works. The dogwood is pushing the frame and I would either give it more room OR let it break through the line as you have with the vase below. Nicely seen.
