Crap , my bucket list ... I'm there . A skull on the front door , a bone to get thru the door .
Rotors on front porch .
I love the place and I gotta see the inside ...
If they give you a hard time about shooting inside ,
tell them that you're with Nat Geo and you're doing a piece on Kanai Lake . It's a cool piece , thanks .

Thank you so very much for your review and thank you so much for making me laugh! I will try to get a few shots of the inside! This is a great place with great food! I?ll see what I can do, as a rule the people here are pretty friendly and accommodating!

A great shot. The combination of the rustic building with the almost psychedelic colors of the painting is fantastic. I like the frame filling composition and the very fine details.

That looks like a great place to eat, drink and be merry! I love the artwork on the building and the loving way you've framed the picture with a mountain in the background photo-bombing the roadhouse. Very nice!

Wow, Pat! I am sorry I don't have any 6's left, but this is definitely one that deserves one...as all of yours do. At first I thought this was a painting. It's one of those places that you can only dream of finding to paint. You have made it look even more magical using a HDR filter. It almost feels unsafe going in there for a cold one. I think it's fantastic...keep them comin.

I would have commented on the exterior ambiance before reading your notes...
Yes, I believe you as this seem to preserve an old tradition of fine dining whose culinary expertise was passed on from generation to generation...

Subtle illumination.
Subdued colors.
A poignant painterly feel.
A nostalgic vintage image.

Thanks for sharing...

This is a nice image. I almost graded it down because I think the HDR is overly obvious. It is one of those tools that can be good in some circumstances. Here I think it makes things look odd and over processed. Nice old building with lots of character and color. I would want to eat here. Not sure I like the snippet of mountain peaking over the corner of the building. I would prefer none or more Well seen.

Thank you , I really appreciate your thoughts . This believe it or not didn?t change drastically with the HDR, it?s worn so it had that odd highlighting to begin with, I will get another shot of this this summer and post it . The food is excellent here !

It has such a wonderful feel to it, with lovely detail and a softness that I happen to love.
The rustic building looks like a wonderful place and I'm sure the food is delicious.
Love the colors and the perfect framing of this shot.

Thank you so much ! This building is old and worn and to begin with it had this highlighted look, it was also odd lighting the worn spots seemed to glow, I added the HDR to bring out the details. I really appreciate your support!

I love the ruggedness of this building...so appropriate for Alaskans. The red door against the silvery gray of the building is striking. I would love to go there and have a fried halibut and chips and a cold brew. Yum!
