Nice catch. Well timed with sharp focus on the Flapper. I guess the duck is going to fly soon. I like the action and the natural colors. The waves in the background emphasize the birds nicely. I think there is to much negative space at the right, which distracts from the birds. Cropping 1/2 of this space would improve the photo in my opinion.

Thank you! I appreciate your comments very much. I wish I had more space on the left so if I cropped the right it wouldn't be square. That was the thing that prevented me from cropping more off the right. It probably would look better if I did just crop it square :)

I can see nothing wrong about a square cropping amd I think it would be indeed look better.

Great stop action shot! The female duck is caught in an amazing pose ... and I love the look on the male duck! The focus and detail on them is fantastic, and I just love the composition of the picture. Awesome shot!

Lovely capture of the two Mallards with the female preening and showing off as she flaps her wings to shake off the water, the male looking quite subdued. I love the pose you caught. Very good lighting and focus showing great clarity. Great composition. Suzanne

This is yet another beautiful shot Grace of these two mallards and I just love how fluffy the underside of her wings look. Beautiful details in both the ducks, especially the female. She's kind of pretty showing her stuff, hope her man is interested! Lol
Really a great photograph.

This one is just awesome! Catching her wings spread, and all the details in her feathers is almost surreal, as if this is an ultra-realistic painting. I also like that the mallard looks submissive. Or at least subdued. I can hear "I'm sorry dear. I won't do it again!"

I love mallards! What a great capture! Well focused , the image is clear, well handled exposure, the colors and tones are natural, nice detail in her feathers face and bill, good eye contact ! I love her lifted wings pose, as she stand on the rock in the pond, the drake looking on from behind, very well presented and a pleasure to view!

Another great capture of the action Grace. It appears that she certainly has his attention. Nice fast shutter speed really did the trick here. Nice going Grace ~ Steve
