A white swan must be a perfect entry for a contest like this, and you have pictured it so well while preening. It is lovely the way the light is falling on the bird, and it is also standing out well from the background.
Your photo is also nice and sharp showing such clear and well defined details in every part of the bird, and the white balance and exposure is perfect.
I don't mind tight cropping bit in this case I think you could have left a bit more space on all sides apart from the bottom. Still a lovely and well taken photo with a good DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

They certainly can get into some interesting positions as they preen , this is well focused, clear to view, perfect exposure to bring forward those white feathers, I love the detail in that white wing! Well presented! Best to you in the contest!

A nicely composed shot although I might like to see the swan's face a bit better. The exposure for the white feathers is nice. I would clone out the white spots on the dark water.

Wow! This image superbly demonstrates the incredible flexibility of the neck of the swan.. The way it can contort to preen every feather is amazing. You made good use of the available light and the dark background shows off the varying shad s of white in the plumage of the swan.

Oh what a twisted web we weave. I love these shots that seem to leave you wondering where is what. This image seems dark overall and the shadows disrupt the flow of eye movement. I think the picture needs more space at the top. Even though the background allows the bird to stand out it doesn't add a lot to the image. I think the shot was well conceived and has great potential, but I think you had a lot of competing forces that didn't work together - harsh lighting, strong shadows, controlling the white, strong contrasts. Well seen.

a really good picture od a swan that is in the action of cleaning, good focal interest and i like the way you have shown the wing and the angle. more space at the top and a lighter image might be better but well done for the capture.
