Good but needs more detailing...use of color is nice...I like the subject but the proportions could be more better. Flower needs more detailing

This is quite pretty and fun to look at. The little lady posed for a take off. Your colors are very peaceful and relaxing. You have chosen a slightly out of the box angle which is nice too. Good job.

A sweet composition but for me its lacking depth and presents too flat on the canvas. The colours are nice and well balanced contrasting well together and yes,,good to see the ladybird with its wings open slightly

Love the soft, pastel colors of your blossom and definitely agree your Ladybug w/ open wings adds additional interest. Good lines w/ nice shading. Best of luck in the contest.

This is extra cool looking to me because with open wings it seems to be exposing more, such as the flower that it is on, as if the flower is a extended part from the lady bug. I hope I male some sense. Kinda abstract lie to me, maybe me only, lol. Great piece! Thanks for sharing!

Interesting painting! I understand your goal was not realism, but your description of "impressionist style" doesn't match the techniques used either. I would say painterly is more appropriate, since Impressionism was focused on the reflection of light and color to the eye rather than your goal of depicting a ladybug with open wings. In terms of composition, perhaps making the ladybug face upwards would have made the arrangement more visually harmonious. It is in the bottom half of the painting, so to keep the viewer's eye from trailing off the canvas, directing the eye towards the center or another focal point is usually a good composition stategy. Otherwise great use of color, overall a nice painting.
