Very good entry for the contest. Lovely capture of your gorgeous little granddaughter with her dog. Converting to black and white works very well to add impact to the image. Very good lighting and focus showing a lovely crisp image. Good luck in the contest. Suzanne

When shooting dogs, try making sounds that will attract his attention so you will capture his facial features--especially the eyes!
