This is a nice shot of the Barn Swallow. I like the artist notes including the legend. I also like the little green spot. But all the attention is on the bird, it's just beautiful!!! Natural contrast colors of bluish black with red, brown and tan makes the bird visible. I like the rusty color of the neck, it looks like a scarf. Great job! Thank you for sharing!!!

Thank you very much! I hadn't realized how much the green stood out until you mentioned it :)

Another great shot! I like that the bird is looking at you. Great detail, and I like the coloring of the feathers. Patriotic bird!

A very nice shot. I like the way he has tucked his face under his wing as swallows will in the rain. A very nicely composed shot with fine colors.

This photo makes a nice sister-piece to the swallow photo I reviewed recently. They would look good on a wall. Both swallows look toward the viewer but they are positioned in contrary positions; the tails pointing to the out side and similar to the diagonal pipes. The colors are in harmony in each photo and also in harmony with the sister-piece because the colors of the birds are identical and both pictures were taken on a rainy day.

Grace, nice shot of a bird I've not seen before. I think a first here on FAR as well.

Colors are very becoming on this little guy.

I do think that lightening around the eyes would really bring out the catchlight that I know is there :)

Thank you :) He is a bit dark around the eyes. I might play with that a little!

You have some of the coolest stories to go with your pictures. So much information on these cute little birds. Amazing!! It's cool to see them, but to get to learn about them as well is very nice and cool! I love looking and reading about your work! Thank you for sharing this amazing little bird!! :D

Another lovely capture, Grace, showing this chubby little Barn Swallow and interesting notes with this especially about the forked tail. I like the pose you caught as he looks at you with the raindrops still clinging to his feathers. Very good lighting and focus. Very nice composition. Suzanne

Yeah, these little birds used to nest under the eaves of old outbuildings that surrounded the factory that I worked at before I was officially 'medically retired' several years ago.
I'm enjoying your photo of this colorful specimen a lot,Grace! : )
