Well I am very flattered Neil. My flowers all seem to know to perk up and look their very best when I'm padding around the gardens w/ my camera. You are just a dear for noticing and thank you so much for that....AND for the extra special rating. I do really appreciate it.

You decided well. Those azaleas are indeed royal princesses. Their colors are just beautiful and they look especial nice on the green background. A beautiful piece which would make a nice calendar page.

I like the cluster of orange trumpet shaped blossoms with their very long stamens. The vibrant pink of the trumpet tube is repeated in stamens. They remind me of a cluster of ballerinas dancing on their toes. They are stunning flowers.

That's a wonderful description Linda. I've often thought of them as little dancers myself. Thank you so much for the lovely review. Do definitely appreciate it.

Amazing! I don't believe I have ever seen azaleas this color. The blend of the colors creates such a beautifully, luscious flower in front of your beautiful, new greens. How excited you must be after such a long winter...:)

Your camera has captured much of the detail with your chosen aperture setting. Perfect to show those ballerina like stamen as they all kick out in unison. I think that is my favorite part....aside from the colors. The bit of lavender blues, dilly dilly... showing in your dof in your shadows are adding just what is needed to stage these beauties.

Your vignette was an effective addition. And I never mind your thin frames. They are sort of your trademark proving that each of your photos is indeed a framer... This is magnificent! Sooooo happy to know these were just shot this growing season.. Much more to come, right?!

Thanks for sharing, Deborah, with the green thumb!

Oh what a wonderful review dear Becky! ....and thank you for mentioning the vignette. I have only recently even started using them on occasion and I go back and forth....back and forth and then again trying to decide if it really adds anything to my image or not....so I really appreciate the thumbs up this time.

The AZALEAS are just stunning this season....wow but I'm not sure if they've ever been this gorgeous before or if I just appreciate them more this year.....could be a toss up...lol But your review is not. Thoroughly delightful, it made me smile from beginning to end so thank you for your kind words and for the extra special rating. You are a doll my friend.

I guess there was a time when black vases were more in vogue, but I doubt that this beautiful flower was ever more popular. A beautiful image with great composition and excellent colors.

This is a really lovely surprise MM. Thank you so much. ...and love your comment re: the black vases...lol I look at all these stunning shrubs in my gardens and just can't quite match their beauty w/ their toxicity. At any rate, do really appreciate you having a look at my new piece and thank you again for the wonderful review and rating. You were most generous today.

These are stunning Azaleas and one of the new hybridized colors.....the orange with those pink stamens. You have achieved a wonderful perspective......I love the natural colors and how natural the scene you have captured. Very well photographed with sharp focus and good details in the petal and stamens of this shot. I like how you blurred your foreground and slightly to the background isolated your subject beautifully. So enjoy reading your artists notes and feel the beauty of your early morning capture. Outstanding work and thanks for sharing! I love this!

Took me forever to get this just the way I wanted it Mary Lynn. Those very long stamens are kind of a nightmare to photograph so appreciate you noticing them. Definitely wanted them in the photo. Always appreciate too you mentioning the notes. Thank you for that....and for the really lovely review. You are a peach ML!

Excellent choice, Deb. Bursting out at us with color explosion. Perfect focus with on them for great detail. Lighting is just right and the vignette works to makes them even a bit bolder. A super duo, my friend. Anxious to see more of them. Ed.

Deb , if you cracked your head again and it split open like a watermelon I swear flowers would come out .. and maybe the notes also .. So I really need to ask you about the notes ... Are they off the top of your head ? or do you hit up Google ?
Back to your post... Are these the Azaleas from Padre's place ?
Can I add the small , tender petals to my salad or possibly brew a tea ?
It's a wonderful piece !
Thanks for posting .

LOL Do you know John that you just might be right! My head is full of flowers! OK then...as for the notes. Completely off the top of my head but (and it's a big but) I THOROUGHLY research anything I add to my gardens and have copious files on everything out there.....so there's a ton of information in my head about each and every flower I post. Occasionally I'll go check something before I write my notes (as in the number of varieties today- couldn't remember if it was 10,000 or 15,000)

Yes, these are Padre's AZALEAS and I am very touched that you realized that.....seriously Thank you. Now, as for eating ANY part of these- well, that would be a BIG NO! lol They are extremely toxic...even the nectar. Loved your review....still grinning about the watermelon head and hope you know how much I appreciate the shiny gold star ...and the laugh. Thank you so much Mr TBI!

Beautiful image. I would not have guessed they were azaleas (I thought honey suckle) so your discussion was enlightening. Very sharp focus and detail in the image makes the structure and shape of the flowers very visible. Lovely colors that are exciting to view. Good composition. Well seen and well taken.

Good guess Charles. I do grow HONEYSUCKLE but it will be well over a month still before I even begin to see it budding. That's just a lovely review you've given my new piece and I do really appreciate it. Thanks so much for being so thorough.
