This is absolutely gorgeous! The Dahlia is a favorite of my mine this is beautiful in the pink tones with the almost red tones surrounding the yellow center,this is well photographed with good focus, the image is clear, well exposed, the colors and tones are natural, lovely angle of shot, the clear green background pushes this flower forward, nice detail in the petals and center, nice detail in the leaf too! Your edits were effective , this is beautiful work!

This is absolutely gorgeous! The Dahlia is a favorite of my mine this is beautiful in the pink tones with the almost red tones surrounding the yellow center,this is well photographed with good focus, the image is clear, well exposed, the colors and tones are natural, lovely angle of shot, the clear green background pushes this flower forward, nice detail in the petals and center, nice detail in the leaf too! Your edits were effective , this is beautiful work!

The initial impact for me with this image, I think is the strength of the green in the background. It is a beautiful green and I like the light that you have radiating through it. I would probably mute the color or the brightness a bit so as not to upstage your lovely flower. I do like the glassine look you have created with your green metal filter and Gaussain blur. Perhaps I am looking for more the same green as in your leaves. I love those! And they are placed nicely in your frame.
The flower is so nicely defined in petal textures and colors. What do you think of the white/pink outlines on the flower ? If it were mine I would try to smudge those out very gently so it did not look superimposed on the background. Colors are so pretty in your flower! I too love Dahlias. An excellent choice for your post processing work! I'm so excited for you!!! Can't wait to see more.. Thanks for sharing !

You asked me if what I did was all new to me. The answer is yes and no. I am always experimenting to see what I can create with differant effects.I never have anything in mind I just go with the flow.Some times when I think I'm done I think of another effect that might improve what I've done. I used Plasticine in Fractilius for the first time with my dalhia image. I applied a light and thought it really added a nice touch.

Nice! She really looks as if blushing, all pink with red cheeks. The details of the blossom are nicely defined the yellow center looks like an eye with little petal eye lashes above. The green background emphasizes the flower beautifully.

I like the non symmetrical shape of this particular flower...it makes it more interesting. The overlapping petals and the light and dark greens of the background create depth. The ruby throat and yellow center are pleasing.
