Once I Flew

It is so sad when you see something like this, but also small birds die. Still it is a pity, because I so much appreciate all the small birds in my own garden. Seeing them flying and hearing them singing. You have pictured this dead bird really well though, and I like the frame you added.

Your photo is also very sharp showing such clear and well taken details, and the exposure is very good.

The tight cropping is working well, and the bird is well placed within the frame. This is a different and well taken photo with a good DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

A very dead black/grey feathered bird it's spirit now soaring up in the heavens above while it's mortal remains must have filled some animal or birds stomach, it's feathers now scattered may soon line a bird nest or underground animal den or burrow. Beautiful composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

More than likely the handiwork of someone's cat. A nicely composed shot with fine detail and beautiful colors. Best of luck in the upcoming contest.

the problem is that more and more creatures are going to be in this state, if we, humans, continue to destroy the planet

But that's how life works,my friend!
Your presentation of this mangled bird's carcass makes for an interesting ( if not exactly 'pretty' ) picture!
'Good Show'!

Sometimes heartbreaking things need to be shown. This is one such picture. It is a stark reminder that life is transient, and that living is important. Thank you for sharing.

Okay. That is an interesting and very disturbing shot. I always say a little prayer to the universe to take care of these souls.
It's amaxing how quickly life decomposes after the soul has passed.
A solid journalistic piece that speaks of the bigger picture going on in life.
Well done.

Aww, this is rather sad to view.
I have seen several dead bird this year in my yard, mostly from stray cats but this one looks rather mangled up like it was in a fight. Poor thing, may it Rest In Peace. The photograph is clear and well detailed, though unfortunate for the poor feathered friend.
Best wishes in the contest.

Ahh so sad to see this poor bird, possibly the victim of a cat as his feathers are all torn from his body. You have photographed it well, good focus, clear image, well exposed, good detail and colors are natural. Well presented!
