Great capture of this swan family on an outing. Image is well centered in your photo,images are nice and crisp,good capture of their reflections in the dark water that perfectly sets off the white plumage.Very enjoyable to view!

I like the two heads we see pooping up on the back of mom's back in the foreground.
Nice clarity, fine white balance control and great water reflections. I would lighten the photo a tad as it is a tad dark.
And I already know your answer will be you could not due to the whites. Learning Kelvin Scale avoids this issue completely.
It allows you to control white balance and set ISO to the needed light that is available along with Exposure compensation.
Nice Capture Fred. ;)

    thanks a lot Sandra;
    I remember you explained it once, but Don't remember at what value i should start?.

    Normal day with sun... Kelvin 5000
    ISO in 400 or lower range. EV at low end or minus for white.
    If this was over cast day raise Kelvin to 6000 or 7000.
    And raise ISO while lowering EV to zero or -1.0

    ;)

I dearly love this. The way they float all over the place, it is difficult to get the two adults, much less that many babies in a photo. You have certainly done an excellent job capturing this...at just the right time. Very lovely with composition being spot on!

Beautiful swan family, well photographed with good focus, the image is clear to view, exposure allows good detail in the white feathers and natural tones, I love the way two of the babies ride on moms back, that is just precious! There is one that seems confused about the direction to go ! Super cute storytelling image, very well presented and a pleasure to view!

Love this photo of a swan family. I love looking at swans and never seen a family of them. They are all drifting in one direction, except for the rebellious, adventurous one that is determined to leave the group. Nice framing and composition. Great details in the water and the reflections.

A very nice family scene. I like the water and the bit of a reflection it holds. The cygnets are substantially hidden behind the swan in the foreground which is unfortunate, but that solitary straggler is great.

Must be the mother's touch. Nice picture with a fun story. Well taken so that you can see everything and good sharp focus. It is a bit dark and could be pulled up just a little. Good composition. Well seen.

    many thanks Charles;
    I had to keep it on the darker side in order to avoid white blown outs

Fred,
A beautiful picture of this pair of mute Swans & their cygnets between them except one who appears to be going in the wrong direction, no doubt one of it's parents will put that right soon. Their added reflections on the lake are an added bonus. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Even in nature there are clearly some who are "black sheep" and go their own way! Your fine full and central composition grants us a good look at the situation. Sharpness and exposure are good. Nicely done!
