Thank you for posting your camera settings.

This take is such a fine example of attractive and definitive framing. The bird takes center stage but pays fine focal tribute to the supporting cast - the branches. This combination gives this take its balance and high initial visual impact.

The colors of the bird are beautifully and accurately reproduced in your take - Kudos, so easy to over saturate.

The dark evenly balanced background's bokeh pushes the bird to forefront .

Excellent contrast.

The head of this bird is in super resolution all details are sharp crisp and clean.

This is a keeper of the highest order ... B-)) Bob

Grace this photo really is outstanding. A cyber six because I wish I had one left to give it. This heron looks so beautiful with excellent soft detail and along with the gorgeous background, it looks so dimensional.
Perfect clarity and color!
Such a great capture, it really is a pleasure to view.

A beautiful photo of this shy bird.
The color on the neck and back are extraordinary.
Your depth of focus works well here as does the lighting.
Great focus and composition with the subject and branches.
Nicely done!

He should attract a lot of females but you said they are solitary...
The more difficult to breed them in captivity.
EyeCATching image.
Sharply focused. Fine features & textures. Harmonious colors.

Nice perspective & narrow DOF.
Thanks for sharing...

Thank you for your nice comments. I have never seen these guys in captivity, but I suppose some might live in sanctuaries :)

Wow. This is an excellent shot. It's so clear and the bird's eyes are so expressive. I don't think I've ever seen a green heron. I always thought they were more graceful. This one kind of looks like an angry cashier :D hahahaha. This is seriously an excellent photograph

Hahaha!! I've seem my share of angry cashiers! This shot makes him look bigger than green herons actually are, and he is puffing a bit too. They are just a little bigger than a crow with long legs. Thank you for your nice comments :)

Indeed a handsome guy Grace!

The colors, when shown correctly such as here, almost show an iridescence... really are beautiful!

Nicely done with excellent techs and a beautiful background.

Very striking image at first glance. The composition with the v-shaped branches and the placement and framing of the heron are well done. I like how he is clinging onto the branch with one foot. His eyes and legs match. There is so much detail that you have captured with your sharp focus. The soft focused background help enhance and show off the bird further. Nice work.

Great capture of this handsome Green Heron, Grace. He looks as if he's posing just for you, with one leg raised. Very good lighting and focus showing excellent detail in his feather markings. Lovely composition. Suzanne
