Grace,
A beautiful picture of this watchful Green back Heron balancing on one foot in the bush head turned watching you closely with that beady golden eye, set against the blurred green background. Beautiful composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

While those larger species of Heron seem to get photographed and displayed here on FAR maybe a bit too frequently these 'shorter and stockier' ones don't seem to ever get enough attention!

A beautiful bird in a very nice setting. I like the pose and the simplicity of the branch he is perched on. Great detail in the plumage and a beautiful eye. Nice colors and excellent cropping.

There is one thing wrong: I don't have a six to award this outstanding photo with! This is PERFECTION, spot on focus, clear image , perfect exposure, natural colors and tones, excellent detail in feathers, face and beak , perfect eye contact, beautiful angle of capture, this green heron immediately catches the viewers eye and holds it! This is outstanding camera work! It was truly a pleasure to view!
