This little guys is so cute and precious! How did you get so close to him without mama going after you?! Your exposure is nice with good color and a very nice amount of detail in his cute little face and coat.

Too cute! How many Americans have ever seen such a sight? The uncluttered background, position of the calf, colors, and framing are just ideal. Too bad you didn't win some cash for this.

What a sweetheart,like how this calf is just off center in your photo.Good dof,image is very sharp,good texture in the fur and surrounding vegetation.Nicely subdued lighting.Love the little "mane" that it has!Something seems to have caught its attention or perhaps it is looking to see where mommy is.Wish we had moose here,I would love to photograph them! Thanks for sharing! LeeAnn

Seeing wild moose in Denali was the thrill of my trip to Alaska. This baby is so very cute. Their bodies look so big to be supported by such spindly legs. You did a great job of capturing his whole body as they are usually well hidden in the brush.

ah a baby moose. We have several Canadian tv documentaries on the tv and moose are seen in the distance, but rarely close up, they do not seem to be very tameable. How absolutely gorgeous. I wonder if someone found a baby without parents and took it home, if it would grow up wild or tame?

    Thank you so much! Years ago when a mother moose was killed , people would bottle feed the abandoned baby and the moose grew up trusting people.

    - and then got shot as a consequence??
reply by the author on 24-Jun-2018
    No, not back then, the people hand fed them until they were old enough to find their own food, they were never kept confined, they would come back and visit the people even after they were grown. Now, it?s illegal for people to do that and we have a wildlife conservation that will care for abandoned babies.

Simply lovely. Did you just happen to find him - was mum near. A mother baby shot would helped with context and size - making him even more adorable. I am very jealous. Such a lovely animal. Makes me remember the famous photos of moose found in strange locations around The city. Great work.

    Thank you so much! His mother was nearby across the field munching on some shrubs the baby is actually looking at her.

we don't have these strange looking animals in Europe; the baby looks like the result of an intercourse between a donkey and a dog; LOL;
an excellent portrait Pat.
