Love this one Linda. I really enjoy the soft airy feeling. Pretty flowers just dancing in a soft warm spring breeze. The colors are perfect and relaxing. A pleasure to view.

This watercolour painting has a nice light and airy feel to it with the delicate colours you used. Yes, watercolours are harder to use than some other mediums as there is no room for error! I personally like a thicker paper - 300gsm or so - as that doesn't buckle at all. I like how you've presented these delicate looking flowers and the detail you've put in each one. Very nice composition. Suzanne

Thank you so much. I will wait a bit to buy the more expensive paper. I want to get better at adding depth and I think the less expensive paper is better to practice on. Do you like hot press or cold press better?

The watercolour papers available where I get my art supplies in the UK are a choice of hot pressed, rough and NOT. I prefer the rough 300gsm for my watercolours as it holds the water and doesn't buckle. Suzanne

Very pretty. This has the gentle shading of a successful watercolor. And yet you have an individual style of outlining some of your shapes. I like that. You have a nice blend of letting the water determine the opacity of the color once it has had some freedom of movement of its own... once you laid it down on your paper. You use quite a lot of finesse when you do that. And I believe you use the very tip of your brush with a controlled amount of paint. So your details are still defined softly even in the areas showing freedom of no brush lines.

The structure of this garden..with the movement of the taller flowers to the left seems to be going along with the wind. Soft and lovely. Well done! Thank you for sharing your talents. I love your different styles and mediums...so interesting and always an exhibit of the artistic hand you have been blessed with.

Linda ,
It's an amazing first attempt at Watercolors . Very nice!
Watercolors are definitely my favorite medium .
To view ...
To paint.. so much to be said about that .
Regardless , I think you'll be amazing in this medium and I would love to take the class with you !
Can't wait to see your next Watercolor painting .

very delicate and pleasing meadow flowers. There I am lying in the meadow and the flowers peep up around me. I have never worried about what I paint on or with what I paint, anything which comes to hand, but I can see if sale is at the end of the line, you would have to be careful..

I love the shapes of those flower with the petals drooping downward. The coral and purple go nicely against the blue sky. The yellow flowers on both sides bring out the yellow in the centers of the other flowers.

Nicely done Linda. I really love this. Minimal, light and ethereal. Almost like a pattern on a translucent window screen or scarf. Tis quite beautiful. I know they are more difficult to control, but you have done a wonderful job here. Keep at it!!
