The colors are beautiful! I love how the glow on the dark background. The angle of the shot is unusual and intriguing. I like the view from below which presents the stem and sepals and the back of the cosmo in perfect detail.

People so often overlook the BACK of the flower Cleo and sometimes it is as pretty as the front so I really appreciate your comments on the angle of this piece. Thank you for the really lovely review.

Deborah,
A beautiful picture of this Cosmos in your torch light that makes the pink appear to be more scarlet than pink the open star like green bud cover that houses the developing seed head that we don't often look at in a flower bed. The flower glowing out from it's dark background. Artisitic composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
Susan

One of my favorite ways to show these blossoms Susan....from the back and underside. Many people never see that angle so do appreciate your thoughts on my new piece here and thank you so much for another really lovely review.

    Deborah,
I feel the same about Butterflies, most people only want to see them with their wings open wide while totally ignoring how beautiful if less colourful the under side of the wings can be.

See! It takes a different kind of brain to appreciate the 'sides' most people are not interested in Susan.

A very nice perspective on this beautiful flower. The calyx is remarkably sharp and the texture in the petals is still good despite the soft rendering.

That view from the backside calyx was exactly what I wanted to show MM....happy you saw it. Thank you for the very fine review. Always appreciate it.

Another wonderful after dark shot, Deb. Brilliant to chose the underside of the bloom so that your light source illuminates every nuance
of color variation, as well as, the petal folds. Striking against the dark background. Beautifully composed with just enough stem to support it and add that nice green contrast. Extremely well done. Ed.

I especially like this angle of shot, it allows us to see that the flower is also very beautiful from the back with the stem and casing under the beautiful vibrant orange petals, I like the various orange tones, this of course is well focused , clear to view and well exposed , it steps forward from the black of night background . Well presented!
