Seems like I've seen this one. Love the color. Good and bright. Good highlighting. Nice thinking on black background. The stem and blooms kind of blend and contrast at the same time if that makes sense. This one really pops. Take care. Hope you're in for nicer weather.

It only just blossomed this weekend swimmer but wouldn't be surprised if I've posted one similar to it previously. That black background is the night.....it was blacker than hell when I was out there last evening....spooky kind of black...lol Thank you so much for having a look and giving it such a great review and excellent rating. ...and...it's NOT snowing lol so I am a happy woman.

Hey, whatever it takes. Just glad you didn't have to go in a graveyard at night LOL. The black makes it pop out and shine more. Take care.

The graveyard....lol Oh I stay away from them swimmer....especially in the dark. That's too funny....definitely made me laugh w/ that comment out of the blue....ahahhaha

A different angle for a flowers shot. It shows the colors and textures of the blossom, but not the shape of the flower. Overall very well captured, but the edges seem to be getting a little soft. Well considered and well shot.

I often shoot my flowers from the back Charles.....something different from the numerous images I have from the front or side. I particularly liked the color of this one on it's green stem against the very black night. Always appreciate your thoughtful reviews and thank you for having a look at this one. Urge you to look at a blossom from the back sometime though. Know you could put together some lovely images that way.

I shoot from the back all the time,I agree it is a different way to look at the beauty of the flower.

Do you know Deborah, I have got Cosmos in my garden this year. One white one, and three pink. I just love them, and I also just love this photo. I especially like that you have taken the photo of the flower from behind, and the color of it is just stunning. It just pops out from the black background.

Your photo is of course also sharp and it is clear and well defined details to be seen in the petals. I also think the exposure is spot on.

The format you have cropped the photo into works so well, and the flower has got a good placement within the frame. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.

LOL Maybe he DID have it more together than he ever seemed to huh John?? So pleased you enjoyed my piece. It was extra extra black outside last evening when I was photographing these guys and this blossom here almost seemed to glow....so your comments are really appreciated. Thank you for them....and for the shiny gold star you shared. You are a dear!

I really like this one. The petals look like they're different shades of red here and the stem appears to be sparkling. Photography in the dark can produce some of the most lovely photos

I think this is truly beautiful.
The contrast of the black background with the delicate softness of the petals is fantastic.
Very nicely done.

Wow. This is a great shot BB. I really like the colors, textures and the play of the (flash) light on the petals. Great positioning of the flower in the frame. Just a stunning image. I am practicing holding a flashlight so I will be ready. Kudos BB ~ BB

LOL I thought of you last night BB when I was struggling to hold both the flashlight and adjust my camera settings at the same time. It will be sooooo much easier once my flashlight guy is here! Thank you so much for practicing.....and for being so generous w/ this one. You are a sweetheart!

'Very Cool',Deb!
The bright Red/Orange coloration of this lovely blossom and how it stands out so attractively against the thrilling 'Night Black' of the picture's background really grabs the viewer's attention!
A Really 'Good Show' here,my friend!

awwww...thank you so much Sean. It is always so nice to have the first review of a new piece be so positive. It was particularly BLACK outside last night. I was enjoying myself a lot ......and then the coyotes and wolves started in. Told myself I was cold but think their howls chased me inside.....lol Anyway, thank you for this....so much....
