I love the long shadows this deer skull is casting on the sands of the beach.
The soft colors here are really lovely. Piece is well exposed and nicely framed. Best of luck w/ it in the open YOU! Now one quick question. Is it common to find deer skulls on the beach in NC?? Living where I do I never think of deer on a beach.

If you drag them to the beach with you,you can photograph them;definitely not something most people do,LOL!Thanks so very much for your great and always appreciated review!
I was fortunate that most of the shots I wanted to do I was able to,despite the limited amount of time we ended up being there. We normally don?t go until Sept.,but it was my bright idea to go in June to celebrate out 25th.Big Mistake,Vacation From Hell!!! Ended up spending 2 nights in the hospital 3 hrs from our hotel;they believe Bill got bit by a spider b4 we left and after we arrived it became really infected,so they had him on IV antibiotics.Plus the other antibiotics he was put on made him extremely sensitive to the sun(not good for a beach vacation!) So once he got released and we got back to our hotel,we had lost 3 days of our vacation and spent our anniversary in the hospital. So we stayed one more day and left the following morning. He?s fine, and I got most of the shots I hoped for,it could have been worse. Hopefully we?ll have better luck NEXT YEAR! :)

Oh hell YOU ..what a friggen wonderful way to celebrate your 25th. GOOD LORD! Crap....better go back and take your name out there just in case it messes w/ your contest entrant here. Glad hubby AND you survived that fin-filled vacation...lol You did get some great shots. Still laughing thinking about you lugging these skulls to the beach....DOES make a dramatic background though....good thinking. Anyway, definitely enjoyed reviewing these two.

Yes, he looks permanently beached until the next tide! Your fine classical composition allows us a good view of your find. Exposure and sharpness are good. Well done and good luck!

I like this as something different and well done for seeing and taking this,i do wonder if this would have been a bit more dramatic in b/w,the shadow looks interesting in this...Brian

the skull looks very over sharpen and this distracts and takes from the initial impact
nice angle of shot and depth of field
thanks for sharing

Nice work on this one. I really like what you did in after photo. It has that surreal abstract look which is so captivating and makes the viewer want to search the entire scene. Excellent entry for the contest. A Cyber Six on tis one. Best of the best in the contest ~ Steve

A nicely arranged shot. I like the low angle of the sunlight that gives you such nice long shadows, but wonder why the shadows are outlined in white. Well composed with good colors.

I really like what you've done here. I like the stark white outline of the shadow of the antlers in the sand. it looks surreal, almost like a painting upon first glance

This is well photographed with good focus, the image is clear and well exposed, I like the placement of the skull in my the out of center position in frame, I like the shadow too! Colors and tones are natural! Well presented!
