I like how you used the rows of lavender as leading lines into the background. It takes the eyes smoothly through the field of flowers into the sky. The clouds and shapes of your mountains are very nice. I really like all the texture you created in the lavender.

    Thanks ever so much.

this is not how we imagine America. Our GCSE school leavers study the mid-west in their literature, and somehow we come to imagine America as a dust bowl, filled with creaking old wood farmhouses and racism. I lived in Arkansas for a short while, so I know better.

Very nicely done, Linda. The sky is truly lovely and the great minuteness of detail in the fields with watercolor is amazing. Very good perspective too. The house and green landscape look good. Your determination is paying off. For me not sure if the hills being purple is right, but may just be my own taste. Keep up your efforts :).

This is very pretty. I love the lavender mountains that in sync with the lavender fields. Your leading lines of rows made this a very pleasurable scene to view. Your balance of the 'strata' of your landscape is perfect. You have brought the lavender to your viewer first and then let us follow those rows to the house and onto the beautiful mountains and sky. Colors are amazing. And the detail of the lavender blossoms has created a texture that is almost touchable.. I love Lavender. I cannot imagine the pleasure of standing in a real field of lavender. Thank you fro sharing. Just lovely.

Wow! This looks like it took quite some time to complete! This draws the viewer in, the rows of lavender lead us right in to this scene, the colors and tones in the flowers and throughout this image are very well chosen and applied, the House was cleverly placed so the viewer actually goes through the lavender field to view it, you placed two tall trees to the left and balanced them with the bushes that grow right up next to the house on the right. Behind the house is a green field leading back to the purple mountains in the distance, the shapes and details are perfect, the sky is blue with a good amount of cloud detail , the clouds actually move across the blue. This is a beautiful work of art, it's truly a pleasure to view.

They say watercolours are one of the most tricky mediums to use and you have done a fine job. I had to chuckle when you said you threw a few attempts away, been there done that ha ha. Experimenting is key though and as frustrating as it is the end results are worth it. I think you should be very pleased with this
