Exceptional initial impact. The colors are rich with excellent lighting. The rain drops add so much more detail than a dry flower. The focus and depth of field are perfect.

Was going to say I thought this was a new name Jim but I see from your portfolio you've been a member for a long time. Perhaps we have just not crossed paths before....so it's a pleasure to 'meet' you and I want to thank you for the very wonderful review for my little Poppy piece. Do especially appreciate the very excellent rating you've given it. Thank you so much.

Oh my.....this is just stunning with it's incredible dark stamen and the orange/red crepe-petals....and your photography has captured it's sheer beauty . Perfectly cropped and well composed shot. You have achieved a wonderful perspective. Your diffused background and choice of aperture accentuate your photography beautifully. It's captivating! Outstanding work and thanks for sharing!

Hi Deb, I just wanted to let you know that when I spotted this I was stunned by it's beauty. I was sorry I didn't have a six left to give you. They go so quickly and I wish they would give us one or two more to give out. I Love the bright red with the water droplets on it as they are so sharp and in focus as well as the center of the flower. Love the background as it reminds me of the northern lights of Alaska. This is exceptional work.

I suppose a short time to have them is better than none at all. Good deep red color of the petals. Love the green/purply center popping out; all the other little purple guys are dancing around it; great focus and close up; the green stem gives it a Holiday look sort of; you know quite a bit about flowers; good lighting; take care.

Not sure if these would grow here in Fl; I would think they would. They're really not a popular flower here. Would be nice though.

It may be b/c they don't deal w/ hot temperatures very well swimmer.

This could indeed one of her models. I haven't seen the giant poppy in nature, but I have a book of O'Kneeffe paintings.
The Poppy is beautifully captured. The center and the petal show well defined detail an textures, accentuated by the water drops. The developing seed pod is especially crisp. The combination of the complimentary red and green is intriguing. The shallow background emphasizes the poppy beautifully.

I love poppies.
This flower is so very clear and bright, it's lovely on it's own, but the water droplets take it to another level.
Very nicely done.

Nothing like a summer rain to perk up the flowers Sharon. Thank you for the very fine review you've given this guy. Do appreciate it.

Wow! Such a beautiful image captured here! I am excited to begin watching your 2018 gardens as they grow. Poppies are a flower I have never been successful with. So I especially admire this one.

Your cropping is good...bringing that well defined center closer for your viewer to study. Detailing the color black is not always easy. But you have accomplished it here! Your red is controlled in saturation as well. You have allowed us to see the veins in the petals. The tiny water droplets are just enough. Droplets sometimes cause great interference in a good flower photo with their reflections.

I think your background works exceptionally well in color. I would definitely smooth out some of the stuck pixels especially in the lower part of your frame. Nothing should be distracting from this beauty.

Thank you for sharing...what a pleasure to view! And happy gardening!!

Oh I was worried the Poppies might not have survived the rains Becky so ran out w/ camera and found this guy looking as if he'd simply relished the rains and wind...lol I so always look forward to your reviews especially because you're a flower person. You know what you're talking about.....photographically as well. Those 'stuck pixels' had me perplexed. I'll ask you about them later. Anyway, thank you dear Becky for this really wonderful review and for sharing one of your gold stars. I always appreciate THAT too.

I should have read this wonderful review last evening John but I am really happy to see it here today. I used to grow vegetables instead of flowers. Tons of vegetables...lol...but think I enjoy the flowers much more at this stage. Thank you for such a marvelous review and gold star....I appreciate both very much. You are a doll! lol

Typical of nature; gives with one hand, but takes with the other! Your full and angled composition allows us a very enjoyable look at your beautiful bloom! Well done!
