Deb, this is a lovely and well captured image. I love poppies and unfortunately we only have them for a short time. The color is spot on and you have dealt with the waxy reflections that they often have. The center is well focused and interesting to view. The water drops play very well on this palette. Well seen, well shot an well presented.

They don't last long in my gardens either Charles and I have to admit I was worried I'd find none of them standing ready to be photographed when I went out on Monday. This guy here though made me very happy...lol So I thank you for giving it such a really fine review. Always happy to hear your thoughts on my flowers.

Beautiful flower! I love how well you described the height and how fragile it is. I was able to appreciate its beauty even more knowing that it survived rain and others didn't! It gives a really nice message to people too! That even though there's storms in life, we shouldn't let it beat us down! I love it!

A really wonderful way to think of the 'storms of life' Silvia. Good for you and am always happy to hear that my notes have helped the viewer appreciate the image I am presenting. So thank you for that. I have definitely enjoyed your review of my little rain soaked Poppy.

This is a l rly image that truly captures the crepe paper texture of the poppy petals. The red color is vibrant and the purple black spots in the throat add drama. The dark pollen pods and the seed head add nice contrast. I like the dappled background.

A beautiful poppy that looks crisp and fresh after the rain. The light is beautiful and the colors (for daylight) are outstanding. Happy Fourth of July.

Beautiful close up, Deborah, showing this lovely Oriental Poppy in your garden. I used to have some in my previous garden and they do have crepe-like petals, don't they? Thank you for your notes, by the way - they are always so interesting. I like what you've done here with the softened background and the narrow frame. Excellent lighting and focus. Lovely composition. Suzanne

Yes they do Suzanne. I was praying the rainstorm earlier hadn't done them all in. Thank you so much for having a look at my new piece and really appreciate the wonderful review you've given it.

Wonderful initial impression, I love Poppies so this really caught my eye! Well photographed with good focus, the image is clear, well controlled exposure, the colors and tones appear natural, this is a vibrant red orange poppy, the petals show good detail, nice clear view of the intricate center, lovely angle of shot, well positioned in the frame, the background brings the flower forward allowing a close look! The raindrops further enhance the beauty and bring a sense of freshness! Well presented, beautiful to view!

Jackpot! Perfect specimen, perfectly captured, Deb. Rich vibrant color right down to the dark center. Excellent angle and framing. Superb detail. An added treat with the rain drops. Summer is definitely here. Ed.

Have a great 4th. We are off shortly with my cousin and her husband for lunch by Hudson Beach at one of our favorite places - Sam's Beach Bar. Always nice to eat with a water view.

They do fireworks up in the village here. Comanche and I will walk down to the orchard...near the end of the gardens and will be able to see them from there. Just love the fireworks (Comanche not so much I'm afraid lol)

Sounds nice. Still drizzling here. Usually neighbors light some off.
