CROCOSMIA in my gardens

I see why this flower is called devils tongue. It has the colors of fire commonly associated with the devil and the shape of a tongue associated with dragons.
The little blossoms are sharp captured and have fine detail. The green, shallow background emphasizes them nicely.

Wow,what a spectacular shot, Deb,that red really pops against that lucious background of green! Never heard of this flower b4,it is very cool looking,it does resemble a tongue.Actually somewhat prehistoric-looking.The other two blooms nicely balances out this photo.Really interested in seeing what they look like once they are open, must be breathtaking! Thanks for the interesting notes and sharing! :0 LeeAnn

Definitely one of my favorite flowers John. There's a bunch in the Apple Tree Bed that I just love! When I walked past them yesterday it looked like a hundred Lucifers sticking their tongues out at me lol So you are a doll for checking this guy out and sharing a gold star w/ it. Thank you so very much.

Unique flower with a very unique effect from your camera settings. Wow!

It really does resemble a work of art. The deep saturation of your reds and greens and the way you have picked up the dark outline of the buds make it a very artistic composition.

Always a pleasure to read your notes! And always a pleasure to view your gardens..thanks for sharing!

One of my VERY favorites Becky and I spend a lot of time photographing it at all it's different stages....b/c it is also one of the more challenging ones to show well (actually much more impressive in person than anything I typically capture in a photo I'm afraid) So your wonderful review and excellent rating of this guy makes me really happy! Thank you sooo much!

Absolutely gorgeous capture! I have never seen this kind of flower, but the detail is amazing and beautiful. The red and yellow flower tubes are perfect and offset nicely with the bright green foliage and shadows in the background. A wonderful piece!

Really a beautiful image of this crocosmia flower! I love how you have captured each individual bud with such amazing clarity. It's as if each one is outlined to show off its beautiful color and
form. The colors are gorgeous and I would love to see this beauty when its in full bloom. A beautiful image
and is beautifully presented.

Oh you will Marsha. I photograph them a LOT once they blossom. They are that 'difficult' red color I love so much so I practice my 'get-the-red-right-Deb' a TON w/ these guys...lol That's a really wonderful review you've given this stage though and I really appreciate it FP. Thank you so much.
