This is beautiful Linda! You did a lovely job of blending the colors. I love how the flowers and leaves along the edge appear to be popping out of the frame.

You're right. this is the best watercolour you've done so far :) i absolutely love the 3-D look created with the black frame and how the flowers have a delicate dominance here :)

I love it. Your creative juices were flowing nicely when you came up with this solution. The dark background really makes the watercolor image pop and is further enhance by the brilliance of some of the image going outside the watercolor rectangle. Plus the watercolor itself is gorgeous; light and airy feeling like the blooms could move with a breeze at any moment. All in all artistic and original. Well done!

I enjoyed reading your artists notes and thought process for this piece.....the dark areas making for an unique piece. I love the flowers and leaves that extend into the dark area. Oh my goodness! This is a beautiful work of art! Very well thought out obviously, beautiful poppies in pink/ peach tones, I love the way you shaped the petals and the poppy center on the largest one, the back view of the one on top with it facing down , the closed bud coming up to meet it , the side view on lower right and the bud on lower left that is just starting to open. The stems and leaves are well created with good shaping. What really sets this one apart is your framing, I love the way the flowers come out of the main frame and onto the black, this is awesome! It's impressive to view, to think about your time and thought in this creation. I love this! I love poppies and this is beautiful work Linda!

Thank you so much Pat for this stellar review. You humble me. I had the most fun with this one and I am glad you like the black background. I was going to use blue but I did not think it would cover all of the spatter mistakes.
