A glorious landscape with a monumental mountain peak!
Still looks so chilly despite the warm sunlight...
Sharply focused.
Nicely framed.
Cool reflections lend a dramatic touch!

Good perspective & long depth of field...
Thanks for sharing...

Wow, still stand after so many years, impressive

In Israel we have a 3.2 earthquake last week, didn't feel it I know only because it was presented in the news

Excellent shot, thanks for sharing

Thank you so much Galia, yes, the trees died when the saltwater flooded this area and it is amazing that they still stand after all these years! We get little earthquakes here now but nothing bad.

It looks like Spring has sprung and summer is moving along. Nice shot showing the green growth on the lake while the snows still cover the mountains in the background. Good DoF and color. There is a lot to see in the shot. Well done.

Pat,
A beautiful picture of this view of the Chugach mountains that are reflected in the water in the foreground with water Lilies growing in it. The dead trees standing there like sentinels at the foot of the mountains j
Beautiful composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques s
& Sharp focus.

It is great to see your beautiful landscapes. I am starting to recognize some of the mountains and I have never been in Alaska. Another fabulous scene with great colors and fine details.

I like ve the dead tree forest areas of Alaska. They give such an eerie feel to the landscape. The mountains barely reflecting in the marshy grass filled water creates a pretty light on the surface of the water. The snow caps are beautiful. The pine forest is a nic3 contrast to the ghost trees.

Thank you so much Linda! We call those trees the ghost forest! I?m surprised that they still stand after all these years!

    My pleasure.

A beautiful day indeed! The mountains seem to be reaching for the sky while the water and grass below are just "sitting there". Waiting for something. LOVELY!

Mountains are beautiful and photo is more interesting with something else, like a marsh, in the foreground. Great combination of elements and different colors. Lighting is perfect, as are all the other technical aspects. I traveled up and down this highway several times when I was there and will do so again on my next trip, probably in 2020.

Thank you so very much! I think it?s awesome that you have been here and on this Highway! Have you been to Valdez?
reply by jimchaney on 13-Jul-2018
No, I never made it that far east. I was only there one week and stayed in Anchorage with trips south to Whittier, Seward and Homer. When I go back it will be for two weeks and include a trip up to Fairbanks.
