Wow! That's really scary. Don't know if I'd want one of these around. It is quite a beauty, though. The colors are bright and true, the focus sharp except for the little bit of the center flower, but who cares?

Sounds like a plant I would not knowingly get too close to! Your fine full and central composition gives us an enjoyable look at it. Exposure and sharpness are good. Nicely taken!

These are indeed deadly blue sons but they are so beautiful. We have them all over in south Florida. They come in pink, purple, and white. The trees look spectacular when the trees are in full bloom. One cannot burn the tree trimmings as the smoke is deadly too.

I don't think I will be eating this plant anytime soon. It is a beautiful flower that obviously bloom in clusters. I think the foal point is off somewhat, the most focused blossoms are on the side while the central blossom, which is the first one viewed, is very soft. Lovely color and placed in a nice backgrouns that allows it to stand out. Well seen.

Who would have known. I enjoyed reading your notes attached to the lovely image. What happens if cats digest this plant as they love to eat plants. Your image is so beautiful and nicely presented. Love the brilliant pink against the dark green.

The things you can learn on this site are amazing. A beautiful flower whose toxicity is something new to me. A very fine shot with good composition and great colors.

Well I had no idea these plants were so dangerous.
Very informative and educational notes. The image is beautiful though and the cluster of small flowers in various stages is wonderfully detailed and has beautiful depth. Thanks for sharing all of this valuable information.

Fred,
A beautiful picture of these soft pink Oleander framed by their green foliage, the light falling on them from above so the stamens are casting interesting shadows on the petals. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

I am surprised that several people on this site didn't know that this very common plant was so toxic?.

Fred,
I'm not surprised one bit! Someone though My Hoverfly was a Butterfly?
And some one else posted a picture Of Bar Tailed Godwits (birds with a long narrow beak) & thought they were Ducks!
