This is lovely, Linda and yes, you're right about having to use negative space for white in watercolours. Love the way you've painted the centres of the flowers and the leaves, too. Very good shading on the white flowers. The bee adds a nice touch of colour. I like the background too. Lovely composition. Suzanne

i really enjoyed looking at this piece. the white flowers are rendered beautifully... do you use Arteza Real Brush Pens? i've heard they're good. i've actually been thinking about getting some. but the foliage has a very nice depth of colour and the wings on the bee are very well done

I use tithe Arteza brush pens for fine detail but mostly I use Dr. PHMarin liquid watercolors and grumbacher.
So that I can mix my colors to suit me. Thank you for this fine review.

This is a great entry for the contest Linda. Thank you for the artist notes about the difficulty of getting those white flowers to come out so well. I had never considered the challenge it would be using water colors. Great details and subject placement in the frame. Best of the best in the contest Linda ~ Steve

I still think you are doing great. The white flowers came out beautifully with a wonderful delicate appearance and great dimension. Love the bee which adds a spot of color and fun. Very well done background too. Overall a very appealing piece.

Wonderful initial impact, beautiful white flowers, very realistic in their design , and placement next to the greenery that supports them, nice detail in the petals as well as the center and leaves, nice positions of each flower, the bee is awesome , he's in flight right near the flowers, nice detail and colors applied to the bee, nice position and creation of his wings, I like the neutral toned background and the overall scene, it's impresive to view the dimension of the flowers and the bee, a lot of times I've seen flowers that appear flat on the paper, I don't know how you do it, but your flowers always look realistic! Well presented Linda and a pleasure to view!

this is really a very beautiful work. extra lovely in depicting delicate, almost innocent blooms and the added nature aspect of a busy and colourful bee. this has got a great, natural look and packed full of educational detail. just lovely/
