I like these birds. You captured the yellow and the bird's face so well. I like the appearance of the sunflowers and the light in the bird's eye is great. The tilt of the head makes a great pose.

Visually appealing!
A feel good image.

Dramatic interplay between light and shades.

Nice perspective & narrow DOF.

I really enjoy a fench. I think they are very beautiful. That's the one of my backyard once in awhile in my bird feeder. Can never get them to sit still long enough to photograph though. Anyway, I really like your image. Well centered and focused. Lighting is perfect. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Barbara. I really like your image of this Goldfinch. The placement in the frame is just right with the subjects are flowing from the lower right corner to the center. The flowers are such a nice element for the scene. The one thing that keeps this from a Six rating is that the neck and shoulder colors and details are just a bit blown out. The detail is lost in the overexposure. Easily corrected of course. You have a great artistic eye. I look forward to your future posts Barbara ~ Steve

Wow. The US goldfinch is so very different to the uk version. See my last post. I can see where this one got its name. This is a great capture- especially as taken through the window. It is taken in good focus with great colours, framing and clarity. Well done.

I love goldfinches. This is a lovely shot of this pretty bird. The composition is beautiful with the bird perched on the sunflower and the flower in the bottom right. Great DOF to create a nice soft background. Really nice work. Thanks for sharing.

I am no expert on birds but this one here looks very yellow instead of yellow! Your fine central composition is very appropriate. Exposure and sharpness are good. Well done!

Thank you very much for the great review! Yes, breeding male goldfinches are very yellow! He's almost the same color as the bright yellow sunflowers he's feeding on.

A beautiful image of this bright yellow finch with excellent clarity and detail. The yellow color is so eyecatching it immediately grabs your attention. The deep green background is perfect for bringing out the beauty in the finch. Wonderful that you have also captured a yellow flower to compliment your finch. Just perfect!
