Your accompanying story touches my heart deeply and this amazing recreation of Heather's portrait shows that inner beauty which she certainly possessed.. Your work is stunning Linda.. the detail used to define Heather's facial features is outstanding.. the lights and shadowing used works perfectly to bring out her sensational joyous personality.. such a warm and inviting smile that lights up the soul and emphasizes her intense love of life and those whose lives she touched .. you have captured the glow that spreads over her face and the sparkle that shines from her eyes. both her eyes and gentle smile draw me into her soul.. she radiates joy, sincerity and empathy for all the folk who have stepped into her journey . I love the use of highlights in her long flowing hair that loosely frames her pretty face.. you have given her a most natural appearance, with the wispy threads of hair brushing away from the jaw line.. the highlighted areas on her lips bring out the softness of her smile as does the shadowing used across her cheeks. superb blending of tones to create skin that truly compliments her gorgeous expression. the accentuated strokes used to define her eye lashes help to draw attention to her loving eyes that have so much love emanating from within. Her jacket is beautifully rendered using darker hues to give the material a denim appearance .. offering a pleasing outline of her shoulders and defining her neck and upper chest.. the background is a great contrasting hue to really make Heather pop... Dear Carl, thank you for your great review, and you inquiry. I continue to work the background with the graphite pencil, and I use a blending stub to smooth out the lines.
