such a refreshing work. reflecting a great space and freedom. representing the joy of nature and enjoying the lovely solitude + the trusty horse; that carries the viewer down the beach to the great beyond. it looks very clean and pure. no clutter but some delightful focal cross and some further delicate details. you have made a construction or (almost) deconstruction of this environment. surreal qualities and warmer vibes. the space and time is like a timeless void but dreamlike to. you seem to ponder on what that man thinks, or his view from further on. what does he see exactly? is the horse listening to some instruction (directive), or has something outside the frame captured his attention. the mystery is both kool and rather (very) interesting.

I replied to to your very kind and perceptive review of my horse, beach and leaning cross composition, Anigmata, but it is still posted as though my reply did not go through... it probably did, but I would feel terrible if somehow it went off into "bit heaven" instead. I mentioned that I wrote a little bit about the period in my life that inspired this composition in chapter 26 of my memoir. I copied the photo of me and the horse from a small black and white photo that was on the back of one of my parents' old brochures.... So anyhow, if you didn't get my reply, then just know I did reply. I was writing a review for Malamax today (sp?) and it just disappeared as I was signing off, so I had to write it all over again! Thanks again for your comments and the extra star; it means a lot to have someone really comprehend my stuff! .... "Maximilian,"what I named my new computer, seems like a really fine machine -- it just arrived with some Internet bugs in it, and I had to reload the operating system and am catching up on updates and the learning curve of using and maintaining such a different laptop. The hard drive hardly ever goes on, and when it does, it sounds like softly falling sand -- quiet and soothing really! I am working on a piece where I imported all my quetzal bird dinnerware into the same master file, and so far "Max" hasn't crashed, so things are definitely looking up! (Before I re did the operating system a huge graphic picture of a dog got in the way on my screen.. weird.) A few years ago when I had a go round with hackers, someone sent me a giant cricket graphic that did the same thing as the dog; it got on my screen and wouldn't leave! It or something else then sent 6 instances of backdoor trojans and that was the end of that operating system! I think someone from my father's operation stalks me, but I am pretty savvy about how to evade attacks by now... so on and so on! Anyway, I do like my new machine -- quite awesome! Daphne

oh wow you certainly have so much to deal with but you always mangae to win with your incredible will power. i hope you continue from strength to strength. yes you have certainly combined so many magical aspects to this one in particular. for me it seems to be firing out many undefined questions; which certainly adds to the whole mystery.

Thank you "Mr Jones". Yes my mother always said I inherited my father's amazing will power. (I just wonder sometimes why I end up being so in need of it all the time!! I can't imagine I would be alive without it though...)
I love being afforded the blessing of the opportunity to share with someone as perceptive about the many components of my diverse and multi-dimensional slice of life as yourself. I am going to look for the little black and white photo of myself I copied for Anigmata and will email it to you, probably tomorrow. My father actually took the photo as he rode behind me, so I am naturally not really alone in that instance... "Captain Jinks" signing off!

This tells a pretty poignant story. I like how well you uses the various elements as symbolism. You also did a great job on the horse's face and the markings on the bird's wings and its shape.

Wonderful work,so brilliantly though out, the simplicity gives it a great atmosphere capturing a real stillness. The detail is so good, a privilege to look at.

Anything that clearly evokes a childhood memory like this is aces in my book. My mother gave me Carlos Castanedas teachings of Don Juan and I feel like she's describing the way she'd paint it. Just like this. Thank you. Well done :-)

Really like it, the cartoonish image, a lot of light, very simple end expressive. Only hint of the ocean, and sand, but looking so real. Soft lights works perfect for the deepness, great composition, thanks for sharing

The colors and depth of this painting are fantastic! It's almost like I feel like I'm really there looking forward. Very good shading and use of your colors they compliment the subject very well.

This is breathtaking in its simplicity, yet it tells a powerful story. The way the horse looks over his shoulder conveys the fear both horse and rider feel, but there is a glimmer of hope in the soaring bird, I feel. Excellent work.

I usually review photos but this caught my eye. I love the colors and the message it portrays. It's got a softness about it that draws you in. Well done.

Don't quite understand your text. Maybe I am just a little to obtuse. However, this is a nice composed picture with the pale blue sky over the pale multicolored sand. The placements of the central objects is just about perfect as is the confinement of the white forms and shades in the center of this well drawn picture. Reasons for my five star vote.
