This is a beautiful photo and something different from you ! I love the composition he is not exactly centered it may be me but I try not to center anything when it comes to paintings , I also like it that he looks as if he has some character he looks like a pleasant Grizzly !

I just LOVE me a Grizzly. This is a lovely shot of this relaxed fellow. Look at those claws and the one exposed foot. Just awesome! Great focus on the eye and very nice lighting. The tightly cropped composition is perfect to show him off. Thanks for sharing. He's so cool. :)

Thank you so much Donna! I am terrified of these guys! If you ever come to Alaska, be sure to go to the Russian River, there is a boardwalk and this is a popular place for bears to fish, they usually mind their business and there are a lot of people around so it?s pretty safe. I appreciate your review!

Gee, he looks so cuddly there and definitely well fed. His fur is a combination of interesting colors. He has some pale highlights and an almost ashy gray undercoat. I like the pink soles of his feet and the way you captured all of those razor sharp claws.

He looks almost friendly, but I wouldn't trust him. It seems very unusual that he sits down near humans, but it gave you the opportunity for a perfect Grizzly portrait. I appreciate the defined detail. I have not seen the sole of a Grizzly food before. The bear is well placed into ther frame right of center, so he has nice space at the left to look into.

Thank you so very very much! Yes he looks pretty friendly but I am terrified of these guys! The Russian River is a popular place for bears, they pretty much mind their business and catch fish here, there were a lot of people too! I am about 75 feet away from him. He kind of lumbered in and sort of rolled back into this sitting position!

I have seen Grizzlies at Kakanusa. I was terrified to when the came close. I think he probably eat loots of fish which made him lazy and sleepy. :o)

Grizzlies don?t typically seek out humans, the worst thing that can happen is if you are walking into the woods and come up on one by surprise or if you get between a mother and her cubs, on the river, they pretty much mind their business .

Neither would I ! I actually met a man on the Klutina River , he was left blind from a bear attack, he was leaving the Russian River in a trail and a bear charged and mauled him , this happened 15 years ago, he actually wrote a book ? Beyond The Bear? his name is Dan Bigley and in spite of being blind, he was in the river about thigh deep, fishing, he had his father in law there guiding him. I downloaded the book and started reading it, it left me even more terrified then I already was.
