This is an amazing portrait. I do recognize the Alzheimer's/dementia (several dear relatives have suffered from it). A sister FanStory friend, Ulla, used it for a poem about depression, and it worked very well for that also -- I suffer from depression, and this immediately struck a chord with me. This is so very creative and compassionate!

    Hi Linda,
Of course, I forgive your tardy response, as mine is even tardier! I am sorry, I just happened to wander over here and saw that I have a reply -- thank you so much!
It's great to make your acquaintance, and I really appreciate your work. God bless you, my friend.

What a fascinating interpretation of this debilitating disease. It's such a sad condition and your painting shows that very well. I think your choice of blue for the person is fitting and your depiction of the fragmented thoughts and existence is excellent.

Love this piece - the more I look at it then the more I see and appreciate the effort and complexity of it all. This really is good - you should be so proud of yourself. From the blue used on the skin to the amazing quilt like scraps falling from the brain- all colours work so well especially on the black background. Sorry I have no sixes.

Love your style of art. You really do convey a sense of sadness to the point that the subject is fracturing herself. Mentally fragmenting her mind and personality. Great coloring. The colors and shapes of the falling objects complement each other and add movement to the stationary subject lost in her thoughts.

A fine entry for the Human Form Contest....and best wishes. Good artists notes and I like your thought process with your art work. Good facial expression and emotions captured with this piece. The dark circles, the way she is holding her head, the sadness in her face and eyes were very well created and communicated. So much sadness for those going through this illness your work brings this to light. Nice work and thanks for sharing!

Its an amazing piece of work. Your story helps to digest the reasoning of your art. At first I was startled and confused then I read what you had tried to establish and it works, the story really works. A very clever interpretation of this very horrible thing that can happen to anyone of us. The colour pallet is I think just right, the blue and shadows under the eyes, The newspaper for forgotten memories. A well balanced picture. Thank you for sharing.

This is wonderful, haunting, sad all at one time! The look in her eyes and the colors under her eyes really bring out the emotion in this painting. I think the fact that I can figure out what some of the things in the top of her head are actually accentuate your description of the painting. Really like this!

Linda, I have been looking atthis for several days without having read yourcomments. I kept questioning what it was about or why you had done it. Perhaps that is a comment that the piece draws interest and makes you think, but without your comments it isn't totally clear. I think it is well done and provocative. The various elements floating around and spilling out. Perhaps if they were more representational, we would understand they are lost memories. The eyes are haunting in one sense. The piece is well constructed and executed, and can be taken at face value or with greater depth.
