Yes, even as a baby he looks furious! Look at that serious intent stare! Beautiful capture with nice clear focus!

He looks young, but indeed he does look majestic and fierce too. His intense star ahead gives an impression of alertness. He seems aware of everything what happens around him. The bird is in good focus. The nesting materials also show fine detail. They add information of the maritime environment without distracting from the bird.

Another photo I wonder how you got. I would opt to add a bit of color to the twigs that comprise the nest to make the bird easy to see against the background. For most people this probably would not matter, but I have a number of eye problems and this would help someone like me make the bird out better... Daphne Oberon

Thank you so very much! I am standing on the waters edge, this nest is out in the middle of the water about 100 feet away in a tall metal ship tie, it?s a deep water dock. I really appreciate your review!
Comment from Lance Olson

It's a nice photo, the contrast is on point, I like the different textures throughout, the water, twigs and feathers. For me, it could use a little more visual interest, maybe an unusual angle, a pop of color somewhere, something unexpected to keep the viewer's attention.

Hi Pat!
Hmm! Those creatures are so 'Angry' looking, aren't they?
But they ARE Avian Apex Predators after all so I guess that's only natural! : )
Your photo of this one looks Great,my friend!

Thanks very much Sean! Yes they always look angry , one time I was photographing one face on and he was staring at me, I actually felt intimidated! They are pretty cool to watch!

I'm sure they'd happily prey upon us humans ,Pat! Perhaps if we were smaller creatures! There's a local legend of one that carried off a little kid in the early nineteenth century and that she was never seen again! : 0

Oh for sure! Two years ago I watched one swoop down and snatch a baby otter from the bay, then flew right toward me with it hanging from its talons, it made me sick !

Thank you so much! This was a thrill for me, the eagle builds her nest in the center of an iron ship tie, it?s out in the middle of the water in Homer, I visited several times and got to watch the parents interact with this baby. I was told that this eagle chooses this same spot for her nest each year. I really appreciate your review!

So very welcome. What a thrilling experience!

Nicely taken and well executed. I wouldn't call it a cute baby and suspect it could do some damage with that beak even at this age. A bit of an"ugly duckling" these awkward and scruffy babes grow into such magnificent birds. I like the blue sky behind and the environment of the nest. Good sharp focus and details throughout the image. Well done!

Thank you so very much! I think this little one is beautiful! It was a thrill to see the interaction between the parent birds and the baby, this is out in the middle of the water, they build their nest each year in the center of a large iron ship tie, of course the tie can?t be used during this time.
