before I read it, this said to me: a very hot day. I remember days in my childhood at Bavarian children's homes so hot, you could barely breath. Then in the last twenty years or so I have taught in India, Pakistan and China, and know what heat is, with no air coolers. This is a very hot day and it is well expressed.

Thank you for your five star vote and your comments. I always like to hear a little personal history and I think so do others when they see my work. It kind of lets a person know where the reviewer is coming from with their comments. Thank.

I feel and share the anger you put in this piece of work. You have very effectively presented your feelings about the fate of our planet in this piece. I am in awe that you are able to convey a message so effectively in this lovely piece of work. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.

A warmly illuminated creation depicting a hellish, disturbing environment that most kids will soon dwell in a hot, chaotic surrounding like this!

Most of the adults would be the one to blame for using products with CGCs, burning plastics, etc.

Harmonious blending of colors.
Flowing abstract strokes.

Impressive entry. Potential voters choice...

Thanks for sharing...

Thank you for your five star vote. Maybe. You can edit it if you wish or simple remove this review. I fear you have misunderstood this painting. This is not a good thing for our kids and grandkids to live in. It is fire and flames of destruction that will kill us all. This is not a painting depicting an ardent hope. It is a painting of total destruction. I hope I have helped redirect your understanding of this painting.

You welcome. I wonder if the misunderstanding is because of the language barrier.

Great work Carl. I think you did a great job of not only releasing some inner anger and frustration yet putting it into realistic terms we can all relate to. The symbolism of the oil derrick and the "fiddle as Rome burns" are great additions. Well done carl and best of the best in the contest ~ Steve

Nice strong initial impact on the Viewer. With the rich blend of colors it draws in the viewers eye and hold it to discover every inch. The overall creation has a warm feel to it that give the illusion that it is brighting up the room. Very cool. The creation is well balance and very eye appealing to the viewer. Very creative and awesome work overall (clapping)

Wow! Thank you very much for your six star vote and your critique about the painting and not the reason for the painting. I appreciate that.

Excellent abstract, Carl - you get the feeling of your anger when looking at this vibrant array of colours and I totally agree with your sentiments about what we're leaving to our kids and grandchildren. My Dad used to play the violin so I was glad to see one hiding in this image. Love all the shapes and curves looking like flames. Very good use of colour. Good luck in the contest. Suzanne

Thank you for your five star vote and your comments Suzanne. I appreciate it, although I do wonder what have I created that emotionally hits so many people and yet we all are headed for the same end as our leaders continue to do nothing. It is a puzzlement.

    I agree!

I'm with you here on this theme! When I went back to Guatemala after thirty years and saw how the jungles I used to know had changed due to global warming I was horrified!! The huge old trees destroyed in the storms, black tops of some of the remaining trees which tried to survive the weather from the Caribbean... I could go on and on! Daphne Oberon

Thank you very much for your six star vote and your personal experience comments. To bad that this painting will not change anything. Even Picasso's Guernica didn't change how we do things. I am starting to think that maybe I should have just left this one in the closet.

I know what you mean! I imagine you read my rhyme that touches on a sub category of this theme -- it is on my page below my graphics. Some say that positive rebirth comes from death and destruction; I can see this in small ways; this potential is what you are speaking to....

Well done image that tells a sad story about the state of our world. Like Nero we are fiddling while the walls burn down around us. Good color and imagery. I like the shadowed shapes that have been included. Well presented.
