Nice work on this one Pat. Great pose of this guy with the peanut in his mouth. Nice sharp focus on the feathers especially on the breast. The iridescence of the blue feathers captures the eye and then leads us to explore further. Great image Pat. Kudos ~ Steve

Excellent capture of this lovely Steller Jay clutching the peanut in its beak, Pat. I like the profile view showing the different coloured feathers and the way they grow, some tufts sticking out. The softened background shows him off well. Excellent lighting and focus showing a lovely clear image. Very good composition. Suzanne

Thank you so very much Suzanne! He can actually fit two peanuts In lengthwise! He is a friendly and demanding little guy, if there are no peanuts out on the railing, he will hop around and tap on my patio door!

I love a shot that makes me laugh. My first thought...I hope Pat knows how to do the Heimlich maneuver. :) I really like the tightly cropped composition. the detail in the birds face AND the peanut is well done. :)

Thank you so much! These are friendly and kind of demanding! If there are no peanuts out on the railing , he will hop around and peck on my patio door! The other day, I saw hone put two peanuts lengthwise in its beak, I thought it was going to choke but apparently they can carry a lot at a time.

What a fantastic shot of this bird! Your focus is nice and crisp,capturing the details in the jay's plumage,as well as those in the peanut in his beak.Great catch light in that bright eye! This great looking bird is well centered in your photo.When I was growing up we used to put peanuts out for the blue jays,which would sometimes bury them in the yard.Such a fantastic shot!

his ext feet will be doing it with a walnut..wink..lol. the clarity is great. the angle of the shot of this birds facial having a nut in its mouth is great. the capture of the light is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

Great capture. I assume some kind of Jay. Crisp, clearn and the colors are great. It's hard shooting birds with dark eyes as they send to give little detail but you did great here. Great Photo!
