I think you did a great job getting the sparkling effect to show. The shimmer of the bananas that he is looking out is very attractive. I like how this type of art has such a clean and sharp appearance.

Thank you very much! Yes, I wonder why more digital artists don't try composing their work in Adobe Illustrator instead of going for the hard to review, design type of art. I taught myself to compose in this program because it enabled me to draw again after some hand injuries, so I guess it is about "necessity being the mother of invention!" As you may know, Illustrator is considered hard to use, as it is a vector program -- more mathematical than intuitive .. something like that. Because of the way it works it seems to be used more for relatively simple cartoonish art, when actually it is capable of nearly "flying to the moon"! Glad you like Banana I nspector! Thanks for the free review! I say "free" as it is not presently promoted and pays about two cents... Have a great day! Daphne Oberon

Thank you very much for your kind review! Yes it is one of of the most beautiful countries on Earth, but quite literally the land of volcanoes, politically and literally.

I like your story which this really is a good illustration. The colours seem right for the climate of bananas the splash of bright against the muted yellows. Its almost primitive.. childlike art.. Yet no its sophisticated. The
green backdrop perfect. Thank you for sharing.

A nicely composed digital image showing a tropical environment. Nice coloring. The emphasis of the work is focused on the bananas. All of the colors and the position of the banana inspector and his eyes lead the viewer to the bananas in the lower right portion of the image. Very nice work.

Thanks Mark, for your great, uplifting review! By the way, the screenplay was attached to a second email. You should have it because I forwarded it on in case the first one got lost under gmail tabs at your end -- this happens to me all the time. Let me know though here or by email that you got it. I also attached a screenplay "treatment" that is basically a synopsis of the screenplay plot... The music plays here on Windows Media Player, so I will send it again in the event it corrupted in transit somehow... Thanks again for the great review. Have a special day! Daphne Oberon

I just remembered I have this short professional review from Curubusco Studios from a reviewer in Mexico City that is easier to read than wading through the Treatment. She says: I was pleasantly surprised with the story. I like it. I think it has a lot of positive values: love of nature and animals, respect for people who are not only old but wise, honor, etc. I think it flows. The mixture of legend and reality, and a little magic, seems easy and works for me. I wonder about commercial appeal of this type of benign story, but then I think of some of the people/animal stories that have been big hits. I think it is a matter of doing it really well, but the story works and combines a lot of good elements. I also think there is a segment of the population that is fed up with the special effect/bashing/killing/maiming movies and would welcome this kind of story, or film.

This is beautiful, love the simplicity and coloration in this image with the various colorations on the bananas blending into each other.Very soothing with subtle details created by excellent shading.Best of luck in the contest!

Thank you very much! I see you have some splendid new Monarch photos -- new to me anyway. I will have to go over and compliment them... Daphne Oberon

I like how stylized this piece is. And the expression on his face definitely says "this is indeed a banana." Funny, quirky, and cute. The fade in the bottom half was very clever, as it seems he's walking through a misty, humid environment. The only thing I would have liked to see would be a bit more contrast with the colors and maybe a little more definition between his skin and his lips. Overall nice!

Thank you very much! (Growing bananas at this elevation was an experiment. It was misty, so much so that sometimes under certain conditions tunnels or rainbows appeared between the threes when one looked down through the mist from a high point.) Surprisingly, bananas turned out to do very well in this environment. The fruit sparkled faintly when the peel was drawn back and they tasted a bit different. I never saw commercial bananas sparkle.....

Very cool! It has a Gaugin type of feel to it with some whimsical air brushing effects.
I like the style and effects.
The huge leaf in the background provides a nice contrast and foil to the foreground subject.
Well done!

This digital art is so interesting! I didn't know that banana inspector is a profession. It could be a nice illustration for a book. The colors and tones are nice. The composition is perfect! Good luck on the contest!!!
