A good contest entry and good initial impact with good storytelling. Skill fully sketched with excellent details and colors. I like the spotlight on the small child with the suitcase......with the outstanding invitation of the many mice you can come stay with us. Your play with light and shadows brings good differentiation and contrast to your art work. A creative and talented art work. Best of wishes in the contest.

Well done. The rats are such a great addition! The shading is great. Giving it sad, loneliness and the rats counter the sadness with positives. Nice job

Details in the character and the animals provide the genre for the title. These pieces always have a clear story that can be seen, that is why I love these pieces. Well crafted and al these pieces have such creativity.

Cute, cute, cute ;-) Wonderful topic - what made you draw this?
Love the colors and the look on our poor child's eyes. Can't wait to see more. Deserves to be Recognized. Thanks for sharing. Chuck

You are very imaginative. I like your composition. The shading and color use is great. Answering the title of the show is unique. Sad but a happy story. Great job.

Hi Mark, Love the way you capture emotions! Those rats seem very caring of this little boy or girl! Love the one with the heart! Though I can hear their squeals of joy, I think that little child is deaf to them. He or She is just staring straight ahead, eyes wide open, lost to the world. The face looks SO Sad1 Your art may have a cartoonish flavor but you can read the characters in them, easily! Very Nice Job! :o) Helvi

Very nice artwork again. Wonderful style as you well know.
Great coloring with in the light and shadows.
Interesting theme and storyline. There is always a rat somewhere trying to take advantage of the young and innocent.

I guess the "rat people" are not too particular about the company they keep. A nice drawing that demonstrates how a runaway rarely considers anything besides just getting out.
