Very atmospheric. The pink smokke really adds something to the shot. He looks kind and competent - someone you can rely on in a crisis. Good work.

everybody admires firemen. I had a school friend, who was half lebanese half english, married a lebanese and found the war not to her liking, returned to England and decided to become a fireperson, to our great amazement! Nail manicurist yes, but firewoman! Enemy, the training beat her, she didn't mind slinging a man over her shoulder and carrying him, but carrying him through a tube was another matter! she became a bar person in a lounge instead and tried to catch the boss! Easier than Fireman, and I learnt one or two pointers to middle eastern techniques watching her car windows steaming up in the early hours of the morning!!/she didn't catch him, but she did get a daughter, a big house, a BMW and a horse and a livlihood for life out of it!! that I should manage such, me I just went to Uni and worked hard all my life!/ So now when I see a fireman, I smile!

Sorry, enemy was referring to her time in Beirut and the bombings of the enemy, which prompted her to think of becoming a firewoman, or was it those nice firemen do you think- their wages are not very big in UK!!

Nice overall portrait. I give lots of credit to service men who put their lives on the line everyday to save us. It's a nice tribute to them. It's clear, focused and colors compliment the over all composition. Nice job.

This is indeed an interesting and unusual portrait. A man at his dangerous work. His relaxed pose tells us that the fire is contained, but he makes sure that it does not flame up again. He has his mask taken off, but the smoke behind and in front of him still is bad. The man is well focused the features of his face and suit are well defined which is not easy under those smoky conditions.

Nice portrait of this firefighter. Good lighting to show him and his gear. I find the red flare on the bottom distracting (not the smoke which adds to the shot). I would have also liked a different backdrop that would make this look less like a studio shot. Nicely done shot.

Quite a dramatic looking portrait shot posted here! Your full length composition offers us an impressive look at him. Like the red spray at the bottom. Exposure and sharpness are good. Nicely taken!

Wow! This is awesome ! This fireman in full firefighting gear is ready to put out a fire! I like the red smoke in the bottom of this image. This is well photographed with good focus, the image is clear, well controlled exposure, colors and tones appear natural. I like the serious expression on his face ! Very well composed and presented!

Even though taken in a studio this very clear photo of a determined fireman does an excellent job of portraying some of what these guys go through. Well done! My admiration! Daphne Oberon
