Lovely pastel painting of your China Doll model. I like her pose, the way she's looking at you. I like how you've shown the different textures of hair, skin and clothing. Excellent use of light and shade and great detail in her clothes and hair. Lovely composition. Suzanne

Hi James thanks for sharing this delightful posing China Dolly poised so elegantly against the yellow orange hanging curtain drop. You really have captured a distinct expression on her face.. fabulous detail used to portray her beauty.. and the fine lines that outline her lips, jaw and eyes.. Great use of shadowing brings out those features nicely.. lots of expression seen through her well rendered eyes and the shape of her mouth... love the rich wavy locks of hair that frame her face and drape softly over her shoulders and back. the brush strokes used to render her hair are excellent.. giving it a lovely thick and bouncy value.. Nice exposure of her bare shoulder and left arm.. her delightful body curves are neatly portrayed, with added beauty of the flimsy black undergarment that clings nicely around her upper body.. great shape given to her buttocks and upper thigh area.. just enough garment coverage to compliment her sensual self.. the golden curtain falls nicely with excellent shading used to give it a 3 dimensional value .. as it drapes over her chest and continues to the foreground.. It offers a sense of intrigue to the scene and is a pleasing inclusion to the mind's eye.. The barky exterior of the drop directly behind the young beauty resembles what looks like a tree trunk .. interesting and great contrasting texture against her smooth and silky flesh.. love the earthy tones which melt into the background surrounding the tree trunk.. Interesting shading used on her upper thigh skin.. adds to her appeal and catches the eye.. there is a mysterious coy and enticing emotion emanating from within the scene.. and both the curtain and barky background bring harmony to the scene as a whole.. allowing her to really pop.. Thanks for the journey .. it has been a delight and pleasure to review. cheers mel

Love the colors. It has a dark kind of feel to it. I have not worked with oil pastels since high school and if I remember it's not the easiest to work with. It all most looks like a portrait. Thanks for sharing. John

I like your female portraits. I like your choice of colors, textures and clothing. In this one, what does the fuzz on the outside of the drape signify? Is that a drape?

I like this one so well. Great body form. Beautiful Light play here and there and of course in all the right places. Love that brown rough wall behind her. Gorgeous hair! Sweet soft yellow-orange drape curtain. Right on with that white behind her. Her face has the attitude. Let's play, follow me in. Great piece. Thanks for sharing this one.
