Wow. I did not realize what effort goes into creating a work of art such as this. I really appreciate your artist's notes Carl. I can really appreciate the details that I see now. I would like to take art lessons but this would be so far out of my league that there is no way I could ever do something like this. I can take pictures but cannot draw a stick man. Thank you for your five star vote and your comments about appreciating my notes. From time to time I will do five to eight painting at the same time of the same subject mater. It speeds my learning curve and expands my problem solving ability because I can see a resolution to a problem in one painting that can be applied to another painting. You might call it speed reading with a paint brush.

You have put in a lot of work and effort to give us a beautiful image to behold. Nice colors throughout. The various brush stokes and applications give us a fully textured work of art. Good colors that create not only the sunset, but the colors bouncing off the mountains and water. Nicely conceived and executed.

Thank you for your five star vote and your comments Charles. And I especially appreciate the comment about bouncing light. That was one of my major problems to solve in this series. How to show light by use of color only. That meant no white to wash out the color to a lighter hue, no overlays of light and dark glazes and no stubling. It had to be a pure mixed lighter shade and/or a lighter color in the same field of color laid down with a pallet knife in quick firm strokes so that the paint surface could reflect light.

Thank you for your five star vote and your comments. Like I said, it took me about four years to finish this series. Now I am struggling with the frame selection. I have some in different styles of frames, but I not satisfied with any of them.
