A beautiful trio that is well arranged in this artful image. I like the lily pads and the dark water in the background. The purple blossoms contrast nicely with them.

Hi Supergold, thanks to your little prompting I just discovered this beautiful scene in your portfolio and I am honesty humbled by such a delightfully kind gesture with this accompanying stunning display of splendid purple lotus lilies.. In my mind's eye they represent the emergence of a lovely warm smile with each individual bloom unfolding just a little more to express their delight of a brand new day. The cupped flower in the centre with its darker petioles still embracing the petals draws me into the scene and leaves me with expectations of what's to come. As I gaze further to the left I'm offered just a touch more beauty as those rich purple petals begin to slowly embrace the day.. Each individual petal is bordered by a delightful paler hue which compliments the inner portion of the bloom so delicately as they begin to expose their centre secret - every bee's fantasy .. The deep tone of the stem and the petioles contrasts against that purple hue and adds its own elegance to the floral display. And as that beautiful smile burst forth in all its glory, the bloom on the right is showing off its best display, with the centre stage visible for the world to enjoy. Each of the petals is almost dancing around the central core of the flower, holding their own as they soak up the sunshine from above. the purple hue is almost iridescent and truly appealing to the mind's eye. the emerging bud in the foreground is a nice inclusion and as do those rich mauve flowers, compliments the floating lily pads of luscious green that frame the floral display perfectly - making the blooms truly pop. the darker hue that surrounds each of the pads is an interesting addition and makes the foliage even more striking.. Great background choice of the blackish hue.. which helps accentuate the richness of both foliage and flowers alike. The scene has a lovely harmonious aspect with a rather serene emotion emanating from within. As my imagination continues to portray this as an emerging happy smile, I thank you sincerely Supergold for this wonderful dedication . Your kindness touched my heart and I am honoured .. thanks for sharing .. it has been a truly rewarding pleasure to review. bundles of happy smiles from mel

Very striking in every respect! The resolution of the nearest red and lavender semi-translucent lily and bud is excellent. All three lilies stand out well against the thick, voluptuous bright green pads. The dark water adds contrast. This is really colorful nature photo. My admiration! Daphne Oberon

Mel is an exceptional reviewer and a very sweet and kind person as well, she writes a story for each submission that she reviews, it's a wonderful jesture to dedicate this beautiful image to her. Three purple lotus flowers ( I know you indicate that they are blue, however they appear purple on my screen) I like the position of each of the lovely blooms the one on the right actually allows a slight view of the lovely center detail. Focus is strong on the bloom on the right, they are on the pond and surrounded by the green pads which offer such a beautiful contrast to the purple of the blooms , the green and purple combination is always a winner in my opinion. The image is well exposed, colors and tones appear natural without over saturation or over exposure. I'm positive that Mel will be delighted by this . Well presented.

thanks a lot Pat for this lovely detailed comment; they are Indeed purple but just called "blue"; it is better if I update my story
Comment from suffolkbrian

think this would have been better had all three been in focus, although nice color.
Do feel fred you have a nerve though, agree with your words in regards to placements of sameish reviews in order to get to the top,but as you post stuff on here every day in order to get to the top spot in the traditional section think it might be a case of as they say in the uk pot,kettle,black...Brian

Beautifully presented. Excellent use of colour, and great clarity and detail. I love the rippling water around the leaves, and the depth of colour. Great stuff.

Yes, she deserves all our praises. A very special FAR member, for sure. This a a beautiful tribute of lovely water lilies. Another artistic trio and I really like how each is at a different stage of opening. Very well done, my friend. Ed.

I like this one. Iphones are hard to get a detailed shot but it worked with this one. The flower on the far right (me facing screen) is the clearest while the other two seem ever so slightly blurred. The colors are wonderful. Thanks for sharing it.
